Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Chris Pratt has joined forces with Omaze to raise money to build new facilities for the Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club. The grand prize includes a day on set with Pratt, and whoever else is filming that day, lunch, a GOTG2 custom costume along with a number of extras for those that donate increasing amounts to the campaign. To kick off the campaign, Pratt takes a tour of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 set where he runs into director James Gunn, and the side of a building in his golf cart. (more…)

No universe is complete without stars, especially the Marvel Cinematic one. With so many different characters, it feels like every actor on the planet has done at least one comic book movie. This is especially the case with the Marvel Cinematic Universe; it features so many A-list actors that it’s practically impossible to count them all. In 2015 alone, we’ve seen the likes of James Spader, Paul Rudd, Michael Peña, Evangeline Lilly and even Micahel Douglas make their Marvel movie debuts. Moreover, with Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman’s characters coming to theaters this year, it seems like the stars just keep on coming. As if that didn’t seem like enough big names to put on the posters, another huge name is suspected to join the billion-dollar franchise.

Kurt Russell confirmed he’s been contacted by James Gunn for the role of Star-Lord’s father in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. On the Monday edition of the Happy Sad Confused Wolfpop podcast, Russell admitted he received a phone call just a few days ago from Gunn asking if he would take the part. Russell admitted that before he could consider it, he would need to do a couple of things first.

What could make the retro 1970s and 80s vibe of Guardians of the Galaxy even better? The casting rumor that Kurt Russell could become Chris Pratt’s father in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, set to begin production in February. Russell has been identified as director James Gunn’s top pick for the role, even though the veteran action hero hasn’t yet read the script. (more…)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy. It is the fifteenth film installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and also the third installment to Phase Three. It is set to be released May 5, 2017. It is, arguably, the most anticipated films slated in MCU pipeline. And why not, the first one was a perfect comic book movie! It truly was one of the most unique and delightful films Marvel has created to date. Featuring memorable and enjoyable characters, filled with all the required thrills and spills, and was a almost nonstop barrage of humor and fun. It was like eating a big mac and a large fry at 2am after a night of drunken debauchery, it was that good that good. So… a sequel? Yes, please!

While the May 5th 2017 release date feels oh so far away, there is plenty GOTG news and happenings to keep fans abuzz. We’ve gathered some recent commentary from director James Gunn. An audition tape featuring Christ Pratt and Bautista. Karen Gillan and Zoe Saldana feeling blue + green…. and MORE!!! (more…)

Remember before the last 10 seconds of Guardians of the Galaxy when everyone thought that trying to re-make a Howard the Duck movie was a monumentally bad idea? Well, it didn’t take too long after the post-credits scene of GOTG for people to start talking about the greatness of Howard. Heck, he even has his own self-titled comic book again. Despite the renewed love for Howard the Duck, the man that voiced him in the blockbuster Marvel Studios film says that there are still no plans to make another Howard the Duck movie, even with three new mysterious release dates that were revealed yesterday. It’s been a rumor almost as old as the existence of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the rumor that the Hulk would be going into space post-Avengers: Age of Ultron and will encounter the Guardians. This rumor has floated out there (in space) in a couple of forms, whether it’s a Planet Hulk movie where the Guardians would enter the story at some point, or whether it was Hulk leaving Earth at the end of Ultron and bumping into the Guardians somewhere in space, it was going down. Except no, no it’s not. And director James Gunn has said so again in an impromptu Twitter Q&A. (more…)

Can’t wait for more Starlord, Rocket, Groot, the Professor and Mary-Anne? Need to know what fantastic title they’ve come up with the next volume that is the adventures of the Guardians of the Galaxy? Wait no longer! Director James Gunn just posted to his Facebook Timeline confirmation that the new film, due out 5/5/17, will be called Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. (more…)

“Risky.” That’s how James Gunn‘s story treatment for the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy was described by Marvel Studios insiders “in the know.” Hardly surprising since the original Guardians was itself a gamble for Marvel, one that paid off beautifully despite initial concerns from fans and critics (oddly enough, the same concerns people now have about Ant-Man). So Gunn was given some leeway in crafting his story for Guardians 2, the script for which he’s just finished the first draft of. But expect no spoilers, or hints, or even a look at the full title on the script’s cover page, which makes us all wonder, Just how nuts is Gunn going to get with Guardians of the Galaxy 2? (more…)
