Captain America celebrates his 75th Anniversary this year and he might just be eating cake alone.
Last week, Marvel Comics debuted a new Captain America comic book series entitled “Captain America: Steve Rogers” #1 that shook the comic book world at its foundation. So much talk has been generated over Marvel’s decision to have the superhero, who always stood for justice and doing what’s right, reveal that he has been an agent of Hydra this entire time. We were duped. Big time. Like, for 75 years. With nearly everybody giving their two cents on this surprising revelation, what do you think Stan Lee thinks about it? This past weekend, fans in attendance at a comic book convention found out. (more…)
If you’ve somehow managed to not hear about Marvel‘s big secret Captain America Spoiler that fired up the Internet yesterday, then we hoped you enjoyed your cave spelunking adventure, because everyone else heard about it, even the Amish. There was no escaping it. We won’t actually talk about specifics until after the jump, but we do have Chris Evans, the Marvel Cinematic Universe Captain America’s response to the whole thing. (more…)
The Captain America craze continues! Yesterday we looked at the trending hashtag of #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend that was circulating on Twitter urging Disney to make Steve Rogers homosexual or bisexual. Now today, being New Comics Wednesday, Marvel is adding to Cap’s near-omnipotence with the release of Captain America: Steve Rogers #1. Not only is the patriotic superhero everywhere and anywhere these days, but a secret has been revealed as to Captain America’s true self <Spoilers Ahead> (more…)
We all know how far people will go when it comes to making sure their Cosplay outfits are up to scratch. With a myriad conventions becoming worldwide institutions and attracting bigger crowds every year such as San Diego Comic Con, the photographs of some of these outfits are sublime. Moreover, in recent years there have been outfits that have been the result of much blood, sweat and tears, such as the vast array of superhero outfits like Xenomorphs, Predators, Mech Suits and Iron Man replicas that provide us all with something to marvel at (did you see what I did there?). As it stands, most people know just how far to take it but there are always a minority of individuals’ out there that like to take things that little bit further, toying with the translucent lines of societal norms. Which brings us to this absolutely insane Redskull cosplay (more…)
You can read out recap of last night’s monumentous Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. midseason finale here, but before you go there’s at least one detail we must discuss in full. First though, who would have guessed that this time last year S.H.I.E.L.D. would leave us on the edge our seat like that? The fights! The reveals! The potentially game changing consequences! What a rush! Having eight weeks of Agent Carter crammed in between now and more S.H.I.E.L.D. almost seems like a punishment now (no matter how much you may or may not be looking forward to Agent Carter). Haven’t seen the episode yet? Avert your eyes because we’re about to confirm that Skye is indeed the specific Marvel character she was revealed to be last night…. (more…)
In a revelation that surprises only the three most gullible nerds on the planet, the showrunners of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have said that as the show progresses through its second season, it will eventually intersect with the doings of The Avengers in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This, in and of itself, is not a spoiler. S.H.I.E.L.D. has intersected twice before with the big screen Marvel adventures – Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier – so with Age of Ultron hitting theaters May 1, conveniently at the end of the show’s second season, it seemed only natural that Disney would parlay a show they own, on a network they own, to do cross-promotion with the new movie they own based on the characters they own. It all makes sense in the end. (more…)
Frank Grillo has come along way career wise in such a short space of time. From a partially unknown regular in season one of Fox’s hit show Prison Break to great supporting roles (End of Watch, The Grey, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and leading roles in movies and TV shows (Kingdom, The Purge 2: Anarchy). His name is really starting to get out there and this has been facilitated by his high profile standout performance as Brock Lumlow (Crossbones), which has essentially trajected his career from a tropospheric plateau to the stratospheric. Furthermore, given what we know about the history or Captain America and Crossbones, this speculation does not come as a total surprise. (more…)
Now granted nothing can top the official Captain America Entertainment Weekly photos that we were given just a couple of weeks ago; However, some new set photos have popped up from location in Aldershot, England. The most recent batch of pics that have shown up are of the high powered evil Hydra tanks. What makes these photos worth our time is that is specifically shows the advancement of technology in the 1940’s. Plus it’s also interesting to see more elements of the comic making it’s way into the film. I must say it seems that the more information that’s revealed about this film the better it sounds. I am most certainly looking forward to when Captain America hits theater on July 22nd. I think the project from director Joe Johnston featuring Chris Evans will have a lot of great things to offer!
So how do you guys feel about seeing the big bad Hydra name appearing in the film?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that’s not Chris Evans, it’s his stunt double. However, these are some on set photos of the upcoming ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ thanks to British newspaper, The Daily Mail. An excerpt from their report revealed only minor details on the shooting location from the London countryside:
“And today his stunt double was snapped in a leafy London location, dressed in full regalia, riding a US Army Indian motorcycle.
True to the original character, the costume comprised the colours of the American flag, complete with a huge star on the chest, helmet and cape.
There was also a magnificent Forties-style car on set, which was seen being driven through a woodland location, as well as some more futuristic looking motorcycles.”
On set photos showed everything from Captain America’s costume and stupid wings on his helmet (that’s right) to some pretty badass looking HYDRA henchmen. Look very closely at the super awesome, futuristic looking bikes and car, you can see HYDRA’s logo (nerd blush). Chris’s stunt double even has an assistant on hand between shoots, lucky man. If Evan’s even once say’s being Captain America is “tough” remember, his stunt double did all the hard work that day. Yeah, really hard work. Take look below at the on set sneak peek:
