Remember the days when you had to wait to see a movie before you could spot the Easter Eggs sprinkled throughout? Well, Marvel is known for breaking down barriers and changing the rules of the game, and it looks like they are even changing the way audiences spot those little nods to the other characters that reside in the MCU. Ever since Mark Ruffalo first took on the role of the giant green menace known as The Hulk, people have been hoping that maybe, just maybe, Disney/Marvel would decide that our favorite raging monster would get a chance at his own solo flick. The last two tries at this proved to be less-than-adequate, so it would be nice to see a new incarnation, especially with Ruffalo in the starring role. So far there have been mixed responses to the possibility of this happening, although now it seems as if a solo Hulk film may indeed be on the table. Read on to hear what Ruffalo had to say about the project. (more…)
The creative minds over at HISHE (How it should have ended) have taken a stab at the Avengers ending. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
“We can’t hear you through all of this box office money!”
This NerdBastard has been a fan of S.H.I.E.L.D. since I first picked up a copy of Strange Tales and read about Super Secret Agent Nick Fury fighting to protect the world from the evils of Hydra. One read through and look at that fabulous Jim Steranko art and I was hooked like a 300lb marlin.
You can imagine my delight when watching the Avengers movie; seeing all those S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and equipment every time the Avengers were on the Helicarrier. This NerdBastard was in S.H.I.E.L.D. fan-boy heaven, but that got me thinking . . . an organization that big takes a lot of people to maintain and operate. If I were drafted into S.H.I.E.L.D. (Hell I would be first in the volunteer line) what kind of job could I do? That lead me to think about what kind of job I might get stuck with . . .

With five films full of details all leading up to The Avengers, what we really need is an infograph to keep it all straight. And now, thanks to the Art of The Avengers book, we have one.
Combining details from Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger, as well as the comic book prequel to The Avengers, the authors have compiled this impressive timeline of all the interconnected events that lead up to The Avengers. And for your convenience, it’s separated into B.I.M. and A.I.M., slicing eras to “Before Tony Star Declares ‘I Am Iron Man,'” and “After Tony Stark Declares ‘I Am Iron Man.'”

Marvel is tearing it up with all the super-hero flicks they’ve released in the last few years, and with the Avengers only weeks away from hitting screens, fans are about ready to explode. Furthermore, Thor, Captain America and Iron Man are all set to make additions to their own individual franchises. There are even talks of Nick Fury or Hawkeye getting a solo gig.
But, alas, it looks like this may be the end for The Incredible Hulk.
President of Marvel, Kevin Feige, had a few comments to make on this spirit-crushing decision:
“It was a long road to get to this point. Although, I will say, after the [premiere] screening, I heard various arguments over who was their favorite. Which is my favorite thing: Arguing what was the favorite moment or character. And the fact that so many [people] are saying Hulk feels very, very good. Where we go next, we’ll see. But we’ll be very careful about it and deliberate—as we were in how we wanted to bring him back in Avengers.”
So, if the fans are in love with the Hulk, what’s the deal? There’s money to be made here, so it seems like Marvel would jump right on it.
Though one never knows what the future may bring, and with the popularity that the Hulk is gaining even before Avengers has released, it’s likely they’ll end up changing their minds about this. For now, people will just have to enjoy the big green in Avengers and hope Marvel comes to their senses.
Hulk vs. Wolverine anybody?
Thanks to blastr for the heads-up on this one.
Sometimes, the internet astounds even me with some of the stuff that appears on it.
For some unbelievable reason, British tattoo artist, comic book fan and apparent Volkswagen enthusiast Mark Hunter has mashed some of his favorite superheros and villains using Photoshop with the classic 1950 VW van. Frankly, how one can come up with the concept mystifies me, and yet, some of them are just incredibly well done!
My personal favorite – The Silver Surfbus, the Batvan, and the Dub-Mariner. What are yours?

So in no particular order, I was thinking to myself (which I do quite often) and fantasizing about a bunch of flicks I want to see prequels to. Or sequels or new versions of them in any denomination. Here it is, Wicky wicky.
Predator- This one ugly motherfucker never got his due past 2 films! AVP does NOT COUNT! Aliens got 4 movies of their own plus the two AVP’s which were as bad as either of the Fantastic 4 films… Arnold? Worthy adversary. Danny Glover?….O…K. Maybe Pred3 we’ll get a new action star of the proper caliber these virtuous warriors deserve.
300- Now, I’ve heard that we may get a prequel or something, ANYTHING! 300 continues to be one of the most innovative and original films to date, not to mention beautifully shot. I’d love to see the development of Leonidas and his men during skirmishes and tribal fights. That would be a good day.
Kill Bill- One and two simply weren’t enough for the bride to exact her revenge, it may be a tad more difficult since David Carradine…..died. Bill is dead so this can’t be done, but I’d love to see it. Maybe the sociopathic Uma working her way up the rungs of professional killing…It could’ve been done…Kung Fu? Would have never asphyxiated himself in a woman’s dress and panties…but you went out with style sir, and I think it was bad ass.
Sin City- I hear this one is coming too, but when? A prequel or a sequel, either way, I’m there! Also, Alba HAS to drop her laundry this time. She’s ready, I’m ready, the American people are ready. I want more Marv, more Bruce Willis, even a little more development on Josh Hartnett!
Incredible Hulk- We have word of Wolverine and Iron Man already. Ed Norton put some much needed gravitas into Bruce Banner and those scenes where his eyes would go green? Goosebumps. Plus Liv Tylor was beautifully poignant and the romance was sad yet remarkably funny and soft. The movie made decent bank and was well reviewed. I think with all Marvel’s projects lined up, Disney should not put this onto the back burner….
Anybody waiting for something too? Hit me with it!!
