Jared Leto has enjoyed a lot of infamy for the way he supposedly acted on the Suicide Squad set, going to bizarre levels of method acting by sending used condoms, dead rats and other disgusting bric-a-brac to castmates. But if the following news is true, it makes you wonder how he’ll get into character for a reboot of TRON. Will he be gifting old Atari joysticks? A Walkman with a broken rewind button, perhaps? Who can say with a weirdo like Leto, but one thing’s for sure, if the rumours are true and Disney‘s working on a new TRON with him at the centre, the people are going to have some strong feelings about it.  (more…)

Suicide Squad wasn’t even out of theaters before Warner Bros. doubled down on a spin-off movie for Margot Robbie‘s Harley Quinn. The character stole the movie right out from under the other characters including Jared Leto‘s Mr. J. Now word is making the Internet rounds that Warner Bros. has brought on a talented script writer that’s been making the Black List (the list of the best un-produced scripts of the year) since 2012. Best known for Shut In starring Naomi Watts that just hit theaters this weekend, Christina Hodson has also had her hand in the new The Fugitive, and a Bumblebee solo movie. (more…)

On Monday, rumor had it that  Jared Leto would be reprising his role as the Clown Prince of Crime sooner rather than expected, which had many DC fans quite excited. Suicide Squad, which didn’t  feature a whole lot of Jared Leto’s version of The Joker, who has expressed extreme displeasure with the lackluster use of his character for all the time he put in. Those of us who liked his take on the character were looking forward to the possibility of him showing up in future films in the universe. Well, it seems that we now have a possible answer to our desires.

Here we are, a couple months from the release of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. The summers last big comic book movie, which sees a rag tag group of super villains doing some bad (a whole lots of it) to do some good. In the mix of all that is the latest silver screen iteration of  The Joker with Jared Leto taking on the role of the mad clown. It is this, the appearance of The Joker, that has generated more buzz and interest than the rest of the cast, or the movie itself for that matter. And why not? Jared Leto is the latest actor to take on the crown prince of crime. A task not so easily met. Especially coming off the back of Heath Ledger’s memorable performance in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, with a portrayal so distinguishable and defining, that getting the public to accept anyone new taking on the character is a damn near sacrilege. In order to get the public to suspend Ledger’s Joker from memory would require something new. Something so outrageously different that audiences couldn’t possibly compare the two. Enter Jared Leto with a purple pimp jacket and tattoos that would make the Russian mob jealous. (more…)
