We’re still two weeks away from the November 4th release date for Marvel‘s latest Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch, but it premieres over in the UK this weekend so we’re sure to see some of the stars making the talk show rounds. Jimmy Kimmel, as usual has first dibs on the Marvel stars appearances and hired Doctor Strange for his kid’s birthday party. Things didn’t go as planned. (more…)
Jimmy Kimmel took Oscar night to a new level with guest Ben Affleck promoting Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Affleck brought the sad news that Kimmel’s cameo in BvS had been deleted and might never been seen. He decided to soften the blow by bringing that deleted clip and trying to bury the hatchet between Kimmel and Matt Damon. Check out how it all turned out in the videos below. (more…)
1993 was a good year for young, impressionable nerds: it gave us the high-octane hijinks of the Animaniacs, taught us how to judge a person by the content of their character with Bonkers and gave us a solid founding to pursue our dreams of one day getting abducted by actual space aliens with X-Files. The latter taught us some of the most important things about nerddom: how to pursue our dreams even when evidence points to the opposite, how to temper our expectations through scientific reasoning and lastly, how to plot out our very first, ultra-creepy slashfics.
Now, after decades of speculation, gigabytes’ worth of fanfiction, a meh kinda feature length film and the occasional bit of speculation, X-Files finally comes back to Television in a miniseries, starring nerd-favorite Fox Mulder (reprised by David Duchovny) and perpetual cynic Dana Scully (played by Gillian Anderson). But the good news doesn’t stop there, because Jimmy Kimmel added a little extra touch to the series promo, which aired on his Live Show.
We, the fabulous denizens of the interwebs, were given a quick tease of the full trailer a few days ago, but now the new Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer has arrived in its complete glory! After the web went nuts for a few days throwing theories around about what we were actually seeing (dream sequence? Mind control? Ending of a very odd episode of Scooby Doo?), we finally get a little more info about the overall tone and scope of the film with the new scenes shown in the trailer. (more…)
After a whirlwind day yesterday – October 21, 2015, the infamous date that Doc Brown and Marty McFly travel to the “future” in Back to the Future II – full of glorious references to the film, new movie-centric products being released, and a slew of interviews, memes, and cosplay, the best was unequivocally saved for last. As the clocks began to turn to October 22nd, 2015 (the first day ever that the events depicted in the Back to the Future film series took place entirely in the relative past), Jimmy Kimmel pulled the biggest coup in BTTF fandom on his late-night talk show: Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox reunited in character for an amazing trip down future-memory lane.
When Ben Affleck was cast as the new Batman in Zack Snyder‘s Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice the Internet went balls to the walls bananas. There was virtual pulling of hair and gnashing of teeth that almost jumped right off the computer screen. Funny thing is, rather than being excited that their dad is going to be the frackin’ Batman, Ben Affleck’s kids couldn’t care less. (more…)

Just a week and two days (well, one day if you count preview screenings next Thursday night) till the new Man of Steelhits theaters, and the clips are rolling in…
In this one, which was shown on Jimmy Kimmel during an interview with Amy Adams who, if you didn’t know, plays Lois Lane in the film, is an extension of a scene from the most recent trailer, with Lois and Superman (Henry Cavill) talking in a cell as the Man of Tomorrow is taken into custody by the U.S. military.
So what else is going on? Let’s tune in to Kimmel, already in progress…
What do you Bastards think? Excited to finally see this thing already?
While promoting his latest film, the Jackie Robinson bio pic 42, Harrison Ford stopped by ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. Now when you have a chance to talk to Han Solo, especially since we are all still hungry for more (and any) news about the upcoming Star Wars movies, you pelt him with any and all questions related to the franchise, right?
Well, Harrison politely stated that he couldn’t and wouldn’t answer any Star Wars related questions leading to some innocuous questions from ‘audience members‘ that just happened to be dressed up as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. Then the Nerf poo hit the fans -as the saying goes- when the ‘REAL‘ Chewbacca shows up, revealing that the once space fairing best friends seem to have a long standing feud. You can watch the awkward exchange between the actor and the wookiee below. (more…)
Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. ABOVE: Prepare for The Hunger Games to begin popping up everywhere, it’s poised to explode fandom wise and this awesome cosplay is only the beginning. This flaming wedding dress comes up in the third novel, Mockingjay, so I’ve got no clue what is means but it sure looks great.
It was constructed using a vintage wedding dress base, to which I added a layer of fiery fabric to imitate the dress in flames, then black feather boas for the black feathers. I also added the sheer sleeves and veil piece as well. I’m not sure if it’s visible, but there are also faux pearls strung along the neckline.

ABOVE: What a kick ass Wasp cosplay! I’m a little sad we won’t see Wasp in The Avengers. Well, actually, Wasp can pretty annoying but when you’re looking for women on The Avengers you’re definitely limited. Which is probably why they went with Black Widow. And she’s just a party a minute! Ok. Not really. She’s hot but boring. What is with these lame Marvel chicks!? Still, excellent photography by jaytablante and excellent cosplay from Riki LeCotey. Marvel really wants your dog to be a fan. Yesterday we shared their line of doggie apparel from new partner, Fetch. Today it’s dog toys! Admit it, you kind of want that Hulk fist just so you can get pictures of your dog being punch by Hulk then chewing his arm off. (Nerd Approved)
