Jon Watts

It should come as no surprise to anyone that the incredibly successful reboot to the Spider-Man franchise, Spider-Man: Homecoming will be getting a sequel. Granted, the first film just came out in theaters, but that doesn’t mean the studio isn’t already in high gear working to rake in as much cash as they can with another entry. One of the things that made the film so successful had to be director Jon Watts, and while fans were hoping the director would return, there was nothing solid in the works until now.

Principal photography has wrapped for Spider-Man: Homecoming and a tired cast and crew look ready for a break in the picture posted by Tom Holland. They’ve all been working hard at both the Atlanta and New York Sets and now the film has been passed into the hands of post production. That means there’s really no break for director Jon Watts, but he marked the occasion with a nice little video you can check out below.  (more…)

Spidey homecoming

Today has been a bluster of news related to comic book movies, but one of the most anticipated projects from Marvel Studios is definitely Spider-Man: Homecoming; the film will continue the story of Tom Holland‘s take on the world’s most famous wall-crawler (after his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War). After months of guessing and rumor mongering, Sony and Marvel have made their choice and it is sure to be controversial. Or at least second guessed by the fickle comic book movie nerd crowd. Can these two untested people now rise to the occasion and deliver the Spider-Man everyone’s pegging their hopes and dreams on? Who can say, but the powers that be are certainly stoked. (more…)

All eyes are on the casting process for the new Spider-Man, the young actor who will carry the mantle of the web-slinging hero into his next solo film and through other appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is sort of big deal, and Spider-Man himself still looks likely to make his first full appearance in next spring’s Captain America: Civil War (rumors that casting was taking place recently in Atlanta, where Civil War is currently filming further suggests this), but fans have been eager to see if hints will be made in upcoming Marvel projects. Some shrewd fans got the better of the internet with a faux scene that was supposedly the end credits tag for Avengers: Age of Ultron of Spider-Man yelling at a window washer, but as it turns out you may not have to wait for Civil War to get your Spider-fix.
