Sure, the Joe Johnston-directed Jumanji is more than 20 years old, but it still holds a special place in the hearts of fans, which is why the remake, despite the presence of Dwayne Johnson, has so many people asking, “What’s the point?” The point, it seems, is to change up everything you think you know about Jumanji. At CinemaCon this week, a long standing rumour about the project has been confirmed: in this Jumanji, the characters get sucked into a video game. (more…)
The cast and crew of Jumanji seem to be having a good time in the jungle, posting pictures and videos to social media. Dwayne Johnson is as ever, the social media darling, the guy just gets it. Jack Black isn’t one to take a back seat so he’s upped his game by simply eating lunch. Check out both videos below. (more…)
Apparently there has been a little Internet controversy going on about what Karen Gillan is wearing in the on set Jumanji picture that Kevin Hart posted a few days ago. While her co-stars Hart, Dwayne Johnson, and Jack Black are appropriately clothed for a jungle expedition, many had issues with Gillan’s more skin than clothing attire. Enough it seems to warrant a response from Gillan. (more…)
Fans are still a little apprehensive about the Jumanji sequel starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart and it’s hard not to blame them for those feelings. Would Johnson and Hart turn a much beloved movie into something that didn’t honor the original? Hart posted the first on set image to Instagram late last night. Take a look at Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black in Jumanji jungle costume. (more…)
Every time a new idea surfaces, a new name is added, a new rumour is leaked about Jake Kasdan‘s Jumanji, it becomes more and more of an enigma. From what we know already, for better or worse, the new movie looks like it is going to be a completely different beast from its inspiration and namesake. Starring Dwayne ‘the Rock Johnson’ should tell you that, if nothing else, but there’s plenty more to go on: the inclusion of his partner in crime, Kevin Hart, as well as the likes of Nick Jonas and Jack Black joining the cast hardly adds up to something that looks like the Robin Williams original. Not to mention Jake Kasdan’s directorial style.
A new revelation has added further mysterious to just how similar the two movies will end up. (more…)
It has been confirmed by none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson himself, that the upcoming Jumanji movie will not be a reboot or a remake. The new board-game-gone-wild flick will be a continuation of the first film, thus making it a sequel. Fresh off the heels of shooting Fast and Furious 8, The Rock quickly took to Instagram to praise most of his previous co-stars (Vin Diesel is not mentioned at all). He also goes on to say that he is looking forward to reuniting with Kevin Hart and Jack Black in Jumanji. (more…)
A few weeks ago, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson teased an upcoming project he was working on. He mentioned he was reading an outline for a “cool movie” that will see him partnering with director Shane Black next year. It didn’t take fans long to ascertain which films Black would be working on in the near future. The director is signed on to direct “The Predator,” a sequel to the it 1987 sci-fi film “Predator,” and to “Doc Savage.” Given Johnson’s acting ability and his physical stature, either film could certainly be a possibility for him to star.
Well, the actor has taken to social media and officially made the announcement that he will be taking on the titular role of Doc Savage. In his announcement, made on his Instagram page, Dwayne posted a photo from this weekend of himself joined with Shane Black, writers Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry, and producer Hiram Garcia. Here’s what the actor revealed on Instagram… (more…)
Kids love remakes, right? That seems to be one of the prevailing philosophies of modern Hollywood movie-making lately, but here’s a riddle for you: When is a remake not a remake? Apparently in the case of Jumanji, the new version – not reboot – of the 1995 Joe Johnston film. We know that the film will star the Central Intelligence duo of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, but Johnson wants you to know that when you see the film, he will most assuredly not be playing the character played by Robin Williams in the original. On top of that, Johnson promised that he and the production will make something that honors the late actor too. (more…)
A remake of the 1995 classic Jumanji was first announced by Sony in the summer time of 2015, due for release at the end of the next years. At the time, the news was not met well. Perhaps the online backlash was fuelled by the then very recent death of Robin Williams just a year before. Perhaps people just liked the original movie so much that they genuinely believed it couldn’t be improved upon by a remake. (more…)
