Kate Beckinsale

A few days ago, we shared with you the trailer for Total Recall.  And suffice to say that it was fuckin’ awesome.

In a rare move, director Len Wiseman got together with MTV and recorded a director’s commentary on the trailer.  Yes, you read that right.  He did a commentary of the trailer.  It actually helps to provide some neat insight into the process.  I suppose this means we can expect a director’s commentary when the DVD comes out.

Check out the trailer with his commentary below.  The film is out in theaters on August 3, 2012 and stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and Bill Nighy.

I’m going to guess that this either for an upcoming broadcast or a recent one of Entertainment Tonight, as I would rather pass something the size of a golf ball through a nostril than watch that show, we’ll just leave it at that.

ET put up a nice little behind the scenes featurette for the forthcoming Total Recall reboot. By the sounds of it the movie (you can watch the stunningly awesome and far better than expected trailer here) will play a little closer to the source material, Philip K. Dick‘s “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale”, than the 80’s action flick with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Hit the jump to watch interviews with with Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel. Sadly, it doesn’t sound like Biel is in the role of Kuato. Damn it, she would have been perfect!

No more teasers for Total Recall, we’ve got a full trailer from Columbia Pictures for director Len Wiseman’s Total Recall reboot. The movie hits theater screens on August 3rd, starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and Bill Nighy.

Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

‘Total Recall’ Trailer Teaser Totally Teases

Here’s another one of those damn trailer teasers. This time next year we’ll probably be getting still movie images released once a day that when put together and flipped . . . show us the trailer. Anything those marketing geniuses can do to keep the news cycle lukewarm about a film it seems.

The full trailer will be revealed this Sunday – here’s the details according to Columbia Pictures:

Moviegoers will begin their Recall experience on Sunday, April 1, as Columbia Pictures debuts the trailer for the highly anticipated action thriller Total Recall during the NBA game between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat broadcast nationally on ABC, it was announced today by Marc Weinstock, president of Worldwide Marketing for Sony Pictures. Total Recall will be released in theaters nationwide on August 3, 2012.

The film is directed by Len Wiseman. The screenplay is by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and the screen story is by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Jon Povill. The producers are Neal H. New Taiwanese ‘Total Recall’ Footage

There hasn’t been much news lately from the Total Recall production. Len Wiseman and Columbia Pictures have been keeping pretty much to themselves any goodies from their Total Recall remake.

We’ve only seen a few set stills from the movie which opens August 3, 2012. A Taiwanese 30-second promo for the film has hit the net. the Movie stars Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale, check out the Kate pics below.

Synopsis, which might be a spoiler if you never saw the first film:

All this secrecy might not be a bad idea, we already know the plot and story. Maybe keeping everything else under cover will get people thinking that the synopsis given is just a smoke screen. They can’t leave out those iconic images that made Total Recall a hit.

. . .Three boobs . . .

Even though Underworld: Awakening isn’t out in theaters until this weekend, Kate Beckinsale is already talking about the possibility of another Underworld flick.

In a recent interview with Collider, Beckinsale tells us why she should never become a psychic:

I’m the worst person to ask about this. I always said there was not going to be a fourth one, so you can’t trust what I say at all,” she said. “Playing the same character over and over again does seem a bit odd, but I am very fond of the character and other people are pretty fond of her, too. So, who knows?

To be honest, I hope they leave the franchise where it is because enough is enough.  It’s getting old and overdone now and it’s time to just move the fuck on.

Sony Releases Synopsis for Total Recall Reboot

Sony Pictures has released the synopsis for director Len Wiseman’s reboot of Total Recall, which hits theaters on August 3. Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback adapted the action thriller starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and Bill Nighy. Now what I want to know is why bother? Is there anyone who doesn’t know what is going to happen in this movie? Let’s do a checklist:

Hot wife fight?     Check!

Three Boobed Woman?     BETTER BE!

Mind Trip /  Mind Wipe?     Check!

My biggest fear about this is that Wiseman might try to slip in some big Gotcha moment at the end to make it all a dream.

The synopsis is as follows:

“Total Recall” is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

We’re waiting along with the rest of you for the first trailer. What are your thoughts on the reboot?

First Trailer for ‘Underworld: Awakening’

It’ll be exactly six years to the day since the first Underworld movie, but on January 20th, 2012 Selene and those lovely butt huggers are back.

Sony’s Screen Gems has released the new trailer for Underworld Awakening, directed by team Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein. The sequel returns Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two Underworld films, to her lead role as the vampire warrior Selene, who escapes 12 years of imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have not only discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, but have started conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species. Sparkling vampires this definitely is not, but shirtless werewolves are still there ladies.

Underworld: Awakening stars Kate Beckinsale, Stephen Rea, Michael Ealy, Theo James, India Eisley and Charles Dance.

SDCC 2011: Total Recall Panel

It must be a special night when we post not one but two panels with Colin Farrell. Colin was a busy man appearing in the both the Fright Night and, in this case, the panel for the Total Recall remake.

Alongside fellow stars Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, John Cho and director Len Wiseman they spoke all about the movie. Sadly, the footage for the film isn’t shown here, but you get to see some footage of those bringing the film to life with some very creative people.

Another special shoutout to Trailer Addict for recording all this footage.

Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, here’s our first officially look at First Look at Colin Farrell in ‘Total Recall’ Rebootfrom the upcoming Total Recall reboot.

In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Colin admitted that this film “will be much less jokey” and thank God for that. Repeating the same lines as Arnold Schwarzenegger from the original would be weird and Colin agrees, saying that he wouldn’t feel comfortable delivering “Consider dat a divorce!” again. From what’s been gathered  “the new story involves nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai, with Douglas Quaid (Farrell) a factory worker in the latter who begins to believe he is a spy, although he doesn’t know for which side.” Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) plays Vilos Cohaagen, “the leader of Euromerica who, under the cover of protecting his people, is secretly readying an invasion of New Shanghai.” Not Quite Mars, but it still looks promising.
