Warner Brothers is celebrating the start of production on Wonder Woman 1984 by debuting two first look photos from the highly anticipated superhero sequel.
Patti Jenkins got the ball rolling with a tweet of an image that confirms Chris Pine is returning as Steve Trevor. Then Gal Gadot tweeted an image of herself in front of a bank of TVs with 80s images.
In addition to Gadot and Pine, the sequel’s cast includes Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig in the role of the super-villain The Cheetah.
Last night, the casts of the 1984 (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts) and the 2016 Ghostbusters (Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones) joined forces on the Jimmy Kimmel Live stage to celebrate Ghostbusters Day and promote the upcoming film’s release on July 15th. Guillermo as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man was the highlight of the evening and it’s pretty evident that Bill Murray has an almost unhealthy attraction for that character. You’ll notice there’s a couple of different outfits worn, some of these must have been shot earlier in the day. (more…)
Did you know today was Ghostbusters Day? Can’t blame you if you say you didn’t. Today, June 8th, marks the 32-year anniversary of the premiere of Ivan Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters.’ In the original 1984 film, the Ecto-1 was a transformation of an old ambulance into the tricked-out transport for the spirit specialists. In Paul Feig‘s reboot, which debuts in almost 5 weeks, wanted to honor the classic vehicle but did a little upgrade. For the upcoming film starring Melissa McCarthy, Kirsten Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, the director opted for an upgrade… a Cadillac hearse. A newly released featurette video shows the story of this iconic car and what to expect in the film. (more…)
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… and mass hysteria is headed your way as the casts from the 1984 original and the 2016 reboot Ghostbusters will appear on stage together on Jimmy Kimmel Live to celebrate Ghostbusters Day on June 8th. “The Internet is gonna blow up, blow up real good,” as Big Jim McBob (Joe Flaherty) and Billy SOl Hurok (John Candy) would say on SCTV’s Farm Film Celebrity Blow–Up. It’s the 32nd anniversary of the release of the first film. Which cast members will be on stage when the two streams cross?
It’s the moment of truth. After months of promo art, hints from interviews, spy set pics, and other tips, we finally get to see the new Ghostbusters in action. Paul Feig‘s remake of the 1984 classic has gotten more than its fair share of scrutiny thanks to the director’s bold decision to cast four female comedians in the roles of New York City’s professional paranormal investigators and eliminators, but today we get our first hint if whether or not the gamble is going to pay off. But while the trailer isn’t laugh out loud funny, it does show a lot of promise as both its own unique entity, and as homage to the Ivan Reitman original. (more…)
Following up on this week’s plethora of sneak previews, comes one more. We’ve heard a lot about Ghostbusters, the upcoming rebooting of the 1984 classic, mostly because of all that controversy about recasting the film as a showcase for four funny ladies rather than endorsing the return of the original characters. In the midst of all that debate though, we’ve forgotten one vital piece of plot information: just who is going to be the villain for these new Ghostbusters? Who is going to be their Gozer, or Vigo if you will? Well, so far as hints go, we’ve got a pretty good one about the new ghost bad guys. (Yes, “guys.”) (more…)
This week brought us a much anticipated sneek peak of the new all-female band of ghostbusters appearing in the upcoming film of the same name. They look fierce, capable and ready to put those sleek and updated proton packs to good use. The girls are part of the trend of female-driven action flicks that has been (finally) sweeping Hollywood. So who are these new ghostbusters? Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Kristen Wiig. We know this, yes, but until now, we didn’t know much else. Director Paul Feig has just released some tidbits about each of his leading ladies, in time with some up close and personal posters that showcase a little of each ghostbuster’s individual personality. (more…)
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for teasers, trailers and reveals for some of the very big movies coming out in 2016, but there has been one that’s been conspicuous by its absence. Or it would have been if we hadn’t been inundated with the goodness of Star Trek, Independence Day, and all things Star Wars. Yes, Paul Feig‘s contentious reboot of Ghostbusters has been missing from the mix, and though we aren’t here today with footage, we have something new just the same. An early Christmas present as the funny ladies who form the new quartet of paranormal investigators and eliminators, stand ready to believe you. (more…)
Kristen Wiig has never attracted such controversy in any role she has ever taken. While she’s no stranger to comedy, she’s really in the middle of a bit of funny business.
While director Paul Fieg recently fired back at critics (after a really long time, we must add), it had seemed that the actresses involved in the film’s production were keeping mum on the subject. No, she didn’t make any pseudo poly-offensive statement regarding her role in Ghostbusters, she actually said quite the opposite. (more…)
There are many among us who think the Ghostbusters reboot is but a joke. The nostalgia trippers out there who are so emotionally connected to the original films think a new version is cardinal sin. Check out the comment section of any Ghostbusters reboot article on any site and you’d think it was a war.
If you are one of the many who have taken up arms against this movie, then a cease fire is an order. The Ghostbusters cast just paid paid a visit to a children’s hospital. A moment of charity and good will has been observed. (more…)
