Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete Kills has released another clip featuring all the Grindhouse glory that you can stand. It’s got everything: bullets flying left and right, armored cars and funky vans, beautiful women in outrageous leather outfits with particular body parts hanging out (those chaps must chafe like hell), and some weapons that defy description.

‘Machete Kills’ Trailer: Get a First Look

la-deuxieme-volet-machete-kills

Robert Rodriguez‘s latest grindhouse style movie, Machete Kills has a new trailer out. It’s in Spanish, (We’ll post the English version later today when it hits the Internet), but you’ll quickly get the idea even if you don’t speak Spanish. Danny Trejo is back in all his magnificent gory glory as Machete and he’s got another bevy of beautifully dangerous women surrounding him.

Ex-Federale agent Machete, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

UPDATE: Here’s the U.S. version:

This looks gloriously campy and fun. Grab a tub of popcorn, an enormously over-sized soda, sit back and enjoy the madness and mayhem. This film isn’t going to win any Oscars and that’s just the way we like it.

Machete Kills hits theater screens on September 13th, and also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Carlos Estevez, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demi’n Bichir, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror and Mel Gibson.

You know, I’d say I hate April Fools Day, but then I’d be a hypocrite. We, at Nerd Bastards, always get in on the fun. Last year, we reported that Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg bought the rights to Firefly, and would be reviving the show. Today, we featured an ADULT LINK and duped folks into thinking Matt Smith was leaving Doctor Who. Real stinkers, ain’t we?  It’s all in good fun when you’re the joker, but not so much when you’ve realized you’ve been trolled. I myself, got duped twice today. Motherfuck!

When I woke up this morning, I forgot what day it was. Checking my feed, I saw a headline on ScreenRant announcing Chappell Show Season 4 on Comedy Central with original cast returning. I shot tea from my nose, I was so shocked. Moments later, I realized I got trolled and cursed the sky with furious anger.

The second incident happened just moments ago, when I saw on multiple sites, that Bryan Singer had announced on his Twitter account that Lady Gaga had joined the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past as Dazzler. I, of course, was skeptical at first. I got sold, however,  on Variety‘s Justin Kroll confirmation of the story. With a thumbs up by Variety, bloggers everywhere where cannibalizing the story, including myself. And, to be honest, I wanted it to be true.  Say what you want about Lady Gaga, but Bad Romance is catchy as hell.

Just as I was about to report the shocking news, the majority of sites where updating their articles. Apparently, Lady Gaga’s casting in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is an April Fool’s joke, says her agency.

Alright, so that’s it then, a zinger by Singer. Good one. Now, can we be done with this day. My patience has been shot to zero.

I’m intrigued by what Robert Rodriguez appears to be doing with his upcoming sequel, Machete Kills; he’s got such an interesting line up of actors, you can’t not be curious about where this is going.

Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jessica Alba will be returning from the original film.  Joining them, we have Demián Bichir, Charlie Sheen, Zoe Saldana, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara and Mel Gibson, among others.  This is already a pretty interesting cast.

Now let’s add Alexa Vega to the mix – y’know, the little girl from the Spy Kids movies.  Yeah, that’s the one.  Except now she’s a fuckin’ babe.

Hit the jump to see what I mean.

This NerdBastard is having a hard time getting any kind of excitement going for the next installment of Columbia Pictures MIB III. Maybe someone can help me out in the comments section below and let me know why I should give a crap about this movie.

The first one was great, totally unexpected, fresh and fun. The second one . . . not so much. I’m pretty much over the whole:

“Oh My!!! Look who’s really an alien!!!!”

Really, does anyone give a greasy monkey shit that Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are gonna make their alien debuts?

(Quick side note – For some reason it pissed me the hell off that the spell check in WordPress actually had the correct spelling for Justin Beiber’s last name in there. Screw that, if I spelled his name wrong then leave that shit alone.)

The movie opens May 25th, so you’ve got 23 days to change my mind or join me in the other theater for a second, third, or fourth veiwing of The Avengers.

Men In Black 3 – Clip No. 1

This theater nerd named Jon Cozart (who looks like he’s 12 and is apparently often accused of being gay ’cause, y’know, all skinny kids who like theater and showtunes are gay) came up with this pretty hilarious video.

Granted, a lot of what’s funny about this video is peripheral to the actual main bit, but he did do a good job with the writing and arrangement of these songs.

So, I present to y’all, the Lady Gaga inspired medley of movie villains!

Starting at 0:03, we’ve got The Joker from The Dark Knight to the tune of “Poker Face”.
From 0:32, Darth Vader from Star Wars to “Bad Romance”.
From 1:01 we have Hans Landa from Inglorious Basterds based on “Paparazzi”.
Aaaaaand from 1:38, Fox from Wanted takes the finale with “Just Dance”.

Check it out!

Everyone loves looking at the costumes at Comic-Con. Cosplayers are one of the fun reasons to go to any convention. YouTube user Iluvthe90s took the photo gallery or video blog and went one step further, get everyone to lip-sync Lady Gaga‘s “Born This Way” song. My only criticism is that you don’t get to see all of the costumes with most shots focusing on everyone’s upper half. There should be more spinning around too. I’ll let you check out the video if you haven’t already jumped to it and ignored my pathitic Internet Video Cosplay Music Lip-Sync Rant.

Gallifrey Born This Way – Lady Gaga PARODY – (Doctor Who)

Last week we all enjoyed Warpzones  Born this way/X-Men New Class parody. Well way back in April YouTube user WhatTravisSays came out with his own parody of Lady Gaga’s “Born this way” with a Doctor Who twist. I’m surprised by not seeing it somewhere before this. This video definitely deserves more than the 25k hits it currently has on YouTube. Take a look and let me know if you agree in the comments section below. Oh, and give it a like on YouTube, we’ve got to encourage people to make more videos like this.

Turn Off The Dark … Knight

Have you ever seen something so bad that it seemingly defies all expectations of badness and manages to transcend to something else?

That happened while I was watching a University frat production of Turn Off The Dark Knight, a Batman-themed rip-off of the amazingly bad (yet still being shown) broadway play, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.

Right off the bat (hehehe, see what I did there?), Bruce Wayne starts singing Lady Gaga, and that was just bad. And then the Joker starts singing a slow-tempo song, and I had to turn it off. But, after a minute or so of cringing at my computer, I turned it back on and just started to laugh at the badness. And, to their credit, they don’t shy away from it! In fact, they embrace it.

So, who am I to critique?

Just watch it with a sense of humor, and you’ll be sure to get a kick out of it.
