Whenever Nerd Bastards goes to a con, we don’t just like to highlight the celebrity guests, news items and other things. No! We also like to put the camera on you, the fans. Those of you in costume anyway. So many fans get into an incredible amount of detail with their costumes, fret over the smallest detail and make sacrifices of comfort and mobility, so it’s only right that as we celebrate the culture, we also celebrate those that make the culture possible with their mad nerdiness. On this Thursday of Fan Expo 2014, we found judges, super-people, brains, robots, and something that looks suspiciously like something out of Will Graham’s nightmares. Also, some very impress LEGO sculptures were on display. All that, and MOAR, in this first photo gallery from Toronto’s National Fan Expo! (more…)
Also, do you like details? You’re in luck! Here’s something close to that… sort of! On the show this week, Jeremy, Jason and Blastr.com writer Matthew Jackson discuss: (more…)
And if it looks anything like the photo above: Apparently Bart, Homer, and Marge get stoned off their asses–which is making Lisa and Maggie incredibly nervous (and I don’t blame them). (more…)
Joining Jeremy and Jason on this unearthed artifact is long time friend of people he’s known for a long time, Chris Cummins for a rousing hour of fart jokes, geekery and, nerd news from 8 days ago… because all of this stuff STILL MATTERS! (more…)
From what we’ve seen in the trailers, The LEGO Movie has the potential be the best movie… EVER. Not only does it have a cast of thousands (I mean, look at all those minifigs!) but it’s starring everyone from superheroes like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman to classic, retro Space LEGO guys–even God shows up! In its latest and possibly greatest trailer, The LEGO Movie spoofs Man of Steel.
Because the next best thing to a new Ghostbusters movie starring Bill Murray is not a new Ghostbusters film not starring Bill Murray, the folks at LEGO have decided to give fans of the franchise something to play with. So, while you await the next inevitable rumor about Ghostbusters 3, check out these cool 30th Anniversary Ghostbusters toys. And then go buy them. And then play with them like you were 8-years-old again. (more…)
It’s another one of those moves that make it real tough to be a bigger DC fan than a Marvel one. Unlike when LEGO Batman 2 spawned a movie, which really turned out to be a collection of all the game’s cutscenes, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is getting its own spinoff webseries. As in, original material set in the LEGO world of Marvel. (more…)
A second trailer has released for The LEGO Movie, so if somehow the first one didn’t get you amped to see this hilarious look at the world of multicolored bricks, then there’s no hope for you. You’ll never understand the joy of tiny plastic Batman failing, repeatedly, to throw a batarang. (more…)
