Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete Kills has released another clip featuring all the Grindhouse glory that you can stand. It’s got everything: bullets flying left and right, armored cars and funky vans, beautiful women in outrageous leather outfits with particular body parts hanging out (those chaps must chafe like hell), and some weapons that defy description.

‘Machete Kills’ Trailer: Get a First Look

la-deuxieme-volet-machete-kills

Robert Rodriguez‘s latest grindhouse style movie, Machete Kills has a new trailer out. It’s in Spanish, (We’ll post the English version later today when it hits the Internet), but you’ll quickly get the idea even if you don’t speak Spanish. Danny Trejo is back in all his magnificent gory glory as Machete and he’s got another bevy of beautifully dangerous women surrounding him.

Ex-Federale agent Machete, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

UPDATE: Here’s the U.S. version:

This looks gloriously campy and fun. Grab a tub of popcorn, an enormously over-sized soda, sit back and enjoy the madness and mayhem. This film isn’t going to win any Oscars and that’s just the way we like it.

Machete Kills hits theater screens on September 13th, and also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Carlos Estevez, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demi’n Bichir, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror and Mel Gibson.

Robert Rodriguez had some interesting casting choices in the grindhouse styled movie Machete and continues that trend in the sequel Machete Kills with the possible casting of Charlie Sheen as POTUS (President of the United States).

Rodriguez tweeted the announcement Thursday,

“I just cast Charlie Sheen in #machetekills as the President of the United States! Who better? More soon…”

Sheen retweeted, and a representative for the actor later confirmed that negotiations are taking place. Sheen joins a cast that includes Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Mel Gibson, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara and Zoe Saldana.

Machete Kills sees Machete called in by the U.S. government to stop a cartel leader and an arms dealer who’s puts satellite weapons in space.

Everyone fondly remembers that Martin Sheen, (Sheen’s father) played the president in the critically acclaimed NBC series The West Wing, so maybe it won’t seem like much of a stretch to imagine Charlie there . . .

Who am I kidding, even with Sheen’s recent mia-copa, he would be a train wreck in any position of authority, let along one briefcase away from the “football” that controls the nuclear power of the United States.

With two very high profile sequels in the works, the question remains. How much of A Dame to Kill For (aka Sin City 2) and Machete Kills will be directed by Robert Rodriguez? Well, while promoting the Blu-ray/DVD release of Roadracers he says he’ll be in the big chair for most of both, if not all!

With both movies entering production soon there was some concern about Rodriguez being able to helm the two of them, but as he told THR, this are looking good.

“We’re checking to see if there’s going to be the need for another director if I have to go off and do Sin City [2]… Machete looks like it’s going to go pretty quickly so it’s possible that I will direct the whole thing.”

Rodriguez shared the directors chair on the first Machete movie with Ethan Maniquis, but this time around he really plans to direct the whole thing.

“There’s so much of it that I want to direct I’ll probably end up directing the whole thing, but if I have to step off, I’m going to try and shoot all of the actors and all of the main sequences. But it’s such a fun movie, and it just came out even more fun than I could have imagined.”

I am sure the common consensus out there is ‘f*ck Machete, dump it if you have to… just make a second Sin City movie, damn it.

crap. I think he heard you.

At the end of Machete, the credits sequence told audiences that they could expect two sequels to the film called Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again.

One might have written that promise off because Machete failed to do any real damage at the box office pulling in only $26 million during its domestic run (although it made money on it’s $10.5 million budget). While director Rodriguez could have written off his credits sequence promise as a joke, he continued to insist that the sequels would get made. Now he’s actually a step closer to getting that done.

According to Deadline, Rodriguez has teamed up with producer Alexander Rodnyansky to develop a sequel to the 2010 summer film. The plan includes a third film to complete the trilogy, and Rodnyansky will both be producing and financing the first sequel. Rodriguez says,

“The fan response to the Machete character has been fanatical since his first appearance. Machete is truly a super hero and Machete Kills will be bigger and more ambitious than the first time.”

The plan is to start production in April and Danny Trejo is in talks to once again play the title character. Kyle Ward is currently scripting the sequel, which will see Machete get hired by the U.S. government to take down the runner of a dangerous drug cartel in Mexico. The bad guy plans on spreading “war across the planet with a weapon in space” and Machete and his team must team up to stop him. In addition to Trejo, it’s expected that the cast members that didn’t die in the first movie will return as well, such as Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lindsey Lohan.

What so you think? Green light this puppy?

Robert Rodriguez entered H Hall stage at San Diego Comic-Con, and came ready to blow people’s minds. Even though people are already aware of his involvement with bringing Heavy Metal to theaters, he made some other exciting announcements on other film projects that are sure to make fans of his chuckle, and a good bit excited!

Rodriguez made sure to immediately thank his fans for all the support on his most recent film, Machete. He said that because of their support and great DVD sales, a sequel and plausible third film, have been green lit for production. The sequel for Machete will be titled Machete Kills, which was released at the end of the first film. If that film does as well as the first in the box-office, then he would really like to make a third film titled Machete Kills Again….“In Space”. Yeah you heard right, and yes he did say that. Of course, it is unsure as to whether he stated this jokingly or if he’s serious, but for now it isn’t too much to worry about.

Rodriguez then began to talk about Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For, and said that if it happens it’ll more than likely start this year. It’ll feature three stories, one of which is the title, A Dame to Kill For, while the other two will be two new tales by Frank Miller.  The only thing he revealed about these two new stories is that one of them will be titled The Long Bad Night, and if he gets to shoot the movie he’ll be doing it in 3D.

Finally Rodriguez’s new company Quick Draw, plans to team up with legendary fantasy artist Frank Frazetta for an eventual brand new film based on Fire and Ice, his early Eighties painting that was made into an animated film with Raplh Bakshi. No timeline has been given, but he is excited about trying to great this sci-fi film that will plunge audiences into the artist’s paintings, literally.

So with the following film projects in the works:

  • Machete Kills
  • Machete Kills Again….In Space (Ummm! Weird)
  • Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For
  • Frank Frazetta’s Fire & Ice

Which do you think , other than Heavy Metal, will be in theaters first?

crossbow

It’s a crossbow, a slingshot, it’s an act of unholy God capable of taking you off your feet from across the hall. When the zombie apocalypse comes, those flesh hounds won’t stand a chance against this little wooden number. Some people are going to be wasting round after round trying to down a rotten corpse, but all you need is this bad ass machete tossing death machine. Either this is the single best thing made in shop class or this guy really wants to give Max Brooks a run for his money.

This ain’t your daddy’s crossbow

Yeah, it brings fear to the hearts of many and it’s looks so simple to operate too; the ever simple point and shoot. The only difference is that your not some pussy using arrows, your using a real man’s arrow. Sadly even with it’s ability to make even a boy scout weep with jealousy this isn’t the best of weapons to use when the undead come back (and they will):

  • It’s six feet long. While it’s as long as I am hung it isn’t the best to use in a tight hallway or emergency.
  • Ammo won’t be the most plentiful, you’re tossing around big slabs of sharpen metal that can’t just be reloaded with an ammo clip.
  • If you miss you’re screwed.
  • The guy even admits that this is only good for attracting attention from viewers on Youtube.

Don’t believe me then check out this home-made zombie chopper for yourself, actual shooting goes down at 1:37 and 2:30.

‘Machete’ Recapped in One Minute of Claymation

machete-brisk

So…here’s something we missed in between New Years and Christmas. Lipton Brisk Iced Tea broke out a Claymation commercial for YouTube, featuring Danny Trejo recapping the plot of ‘Machete’, complete with slicing guys in half, some lovemaking, and a lot of hand-washing. Honestly, it’s F’N great! To tell you the truth I would’ve felt better paying $10 for this than the actual movie, which I was so disappointed in.

Apparently, this is the second coming of the Lipton Claymation commercial series, which previously featured likenesses of Rocky Balboa, Daniel from The Karate Kid and Bruce Lee (HIT THE JUMP TO CHECK EM’ OUT). Hey, if Lipton wants to get a piece of the nerd market and compete with Mountain Dew then these bad-ass videos are the way to go.

What do you think they should do next?
