With just a couple of days left until the October 2nd DVD/BluRay release date for Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron one would expect Marvel/Disney to ramp up their massive marketing machine for one push at consumers. We’ve seen one gag reel already and now we’ve got another. Many of the actors during the press junket talked about how loose and fun Whedon keeps the set and now we’ve got proof. (more…)
One has to think, on the set of a film with as many explosions and serious “end of the world” moments as the average comic-book movie features, the cast has to fool around with each other a little bit in between takes in order to not go crazy, right? Well, it looks like Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron was no exception to that rule during filming, and now we get a little glimpse of the madness, via a short blooper reel released ahead of the movie’s home-video premiere.
After two underwhelming Hulk movies, it might be understandable that Hollywood studios might be gun shy about sinking another nine-figure budget into an effort that looks unlikely to make a return on that investment. But is that still case? Mark Ruffalo has played the character in two successful Avengers movies, and is so far the only actor to play the Hulk in more than one movie. In other words, audiences have embraced him in the part. They may be willing to see more Hulk out on his own without the other Avengers, and certainly Age of Ultron set that possibility up. However, reports are saying now that the only thing stopping the arrival of a new Hulk at the multiplex is the will of Marvel Studios itself. (more…)
Just when you thought there was no more room in Captain America: Civil War for another instance of huge casting news, think again! Maybe. Yes, as if the entirety of the New Avengers isn’t enough, along with two villains, Ant-Man, a slew of supporting characters, and Robert Downey Jr., isn’t enough Civil War is also adding a touch of Hulk to the mix. At least that’s the word according to the Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo. You may think that’s official, but here’s the thing: no one from Marvel has told him he’s in Civil War. So who’s Ruffalo’s source? None other than Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. Confused? So is Ruffalo. Not that he isn’t down for joining the fray, or course. (more…)
Last week, Jason Statham said some stuff about the Marvel Studios’ oeuvre that were a bit, um, insensitive. That’s the diplomatic way of putting it, because actually he was downright brutal. The word ‘diss’ would not be misused in this situation. Obviously, such utterances are likely to make nerds angry, and you won’t like some nerds when their angry. And the Hulk, or rather the guy that plays the Hulk, well he’s just kind of laughing it off. In a recent interview, Mark Ruffalo was asked about Statham’s summation of his work, and that of the rest of Marvel Studios’ cast, and his reaction is just that this is Statham being Statham. (more…)
It’s the lunch hour, so why not make some time to get stoked about the biggest comic book movie of all time (to date): Avengers: Age of Ultron. The internet’s been exploding the last several days with new clips and promotion of the Marvel Studios film, which remains two very anxious weeks away from release. But perhaps your desire for superhero fun and excitement can be fed with the following clips. The stars of Avengers were very busy yesterday with red carpets and talk show appearances, while the studio is busy releasing new scenes, and new advertisements to convince fans who were already excited about this project mere minutes after 2012’s The Avengers ended, why they should be even more excited.
Oh my! What the…?! Oh boy. That in a nutshell is the new trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. One of the most anticipated movies of the year gets even more anticipated with each passing trailer, this latest one being the third we’ve seen so far. If memory serves, this was supposed to premiere sometime during Thursday’s airing of the new ABC series American Crime (Yay, corporate synergy!), but like all things concerning The Avengers, the awesomeness of the new footage was too tremendous to contained by a silly thing like “official release dates.” So what can be expected as soon as you press play on the below video? Why ruin the surprise? (more…)
Samuel L. Jackson Tweets Latest ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Character Posters For Fury, Thor, & Black Widow
Robert Downey Jr. started off the week with a look at the new Iron Man character poster from Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron, then Mark Ruffalo tweeted out the Hulk’s. Samuel L. Jackson picked up the ball today and tweeted out three new Character posters, Nick Fury, Thor, and the Black Widow. All this is leading to something in a few days, what could it be? (more…)
We know that we’re not going to get another solo Hulk movie till sometime after 2019, which means that The Avengers and any other movies between now and The Inhumans in the summer of 2019 will be the only places to see the character get all green and angry. That’s okay, there’s plenty of action for the Hulk to smash through, and from the sounds of previous statements of the cast and crew, Avengers: Age of Ultron will another – ahem – banner moment for grumpy green goliath. The guy that plays the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, agrees and has added his two cents about where the Hulk’s mind is at, and where he’ll be going next in a new interview. (more…)
After Mark Ruffalo‘s superb performance playing the Hulk in Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers (2012), his incarnation as the green-monster-with-anger-issues became a fan favorite; leading to the ultimate question “When will Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) be getting his own film.” Thusly, when Marvel Studios started rolling out Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor standalone movies, the Hulks absence from Marvel‘s release schedules became more apparent. Mark Ruffalo has appeased fans slightly by promising that the Hulk has a much bigger role in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, but will this suffice? It actually turns out there is a reason the Hulk has not been included in Marvel’s scheduling for a solo outing in the Cinematic Universe, and although you may be disappointed at first, it’s actually a really cool reason. We will leave you to judge for yourselves. (more…)
