Known as one of not only the greatest comic book movies, but also one of the best narravtives of all time, The Dark Knight raised the standards for action movies all around. One of the first comic book movies to make $1 billion at the box office, the Christopher Nolan feature was surrounded with praise for its direction and its visual effects, and even more so for the final performance of Heath Ledger as the Joker.

In anticipation of the final film in Nolan’s trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, Empire Magazine sat down with some of the biggest names in Hollywood to talk about the cultural and inspirational significance of Dark Knight. From Marvel Studios‘ Kevin Feige and director Zack Snyder, to 1989 Batman director and generally strange human being, Tim Burton – just a few of the names from the Empire article.

Check out what the Hollywood elite had to say in the jump.

Today has been heavy with TV spots.  Instead of rifling off of a bunch of short posts, we thought it would be much more reader friendly to compile them into a compendium. OK, I admit it. We were just too goddamn lazy. Anyhow, scroll on down to see some new spots for Expendable 2, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises.

Lionsgate has released a third TV spot for The Expendables 2Much like the first two spots, you can expect explosions and geriatric  acting.

In the August 17 release, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), Toll Road ()Randy Couture and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job.

Holy pictorial posters everybody! Finally, an actual teaser poster to Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan’s final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. While most fans have been making their own, and some were pretty damn good, this one is confirmed 100% real. I’m not usually one to gush all over a teaser poster, but this is just some awe inspiring shit. It’s like…. “Bat-ception!”

Thanks to the official site, people are greeted by the oh so spectacular Batman logo positioned in a very peculiar way, signaling what could be the tone of the movie. “The inner world of Batman is falling apart” ….yup, that is what I read in it.

Heh, at least they’re finally putting title to good use.

Recently Sir Michael Caine revealed in an interview with BBC that Batman 3 may potentially be the movie that he decides to end his career with.  Talk about going out with a bang!  While discussing this he only revealed a little bit of detail about the forthcoming Batman movie.  And by little… I do mean a little.  The guy is sealed up like fucking Fort Knox.  But what he did reveal however was more about Christopher Nolan and his personality more than anything.

As far as Batman 3  is concerned Caine said,

“There will be a new Batman. It will probably start in May next year. I assume I’m there, but in the movie business you never believe anything, you assume. But I’ve been in the last four Chris Nolan pictures, he’s my lucky charm. I did ‘Prestige’, and recently ‘Inception’, I’m hoping to do another one. He’s written the new one.”

And as if that was crpytic and inrevealing enough for ya here’s what Caine had to say about a potential villain;

“No one will tell you. Chris is the most secretive man in the world.”

Sir Michael Caine did however decide to let us into the world of Mr. Christopher Nolan.  As far as his method of making a film and his relationship with his actors Caine tell us;

“The first time when he asked me to do ‘Batman Begins’, I played a butler, he came to my house on a Sunday morning, he had the script. He went and said, ‘Can you read it now,’ so I read it and said, ‘It’s fantastic, I’ll do it’ so I went to put the script in my office and he said, ‘No, I want it back.'”

“He waited until I finished reading, had a cup of tea with my missus and then took the script away again in case someone saw it. Actors are such silly sods they don’t know what they’re doing half the time.”

Although it is super nteresting getting a little inside the mind of someone like Nolan.  We’re all super excited and really interested in what the heck he’s doing with this next Batman installment; if it happens at all!  Now, let’s say all goes well and the film does come out as expected in June of 2012 (without unforeseen Hobbit like mishaps, of course).  What direction do you think Nolan should take?  Who should the villain be?  Should he include Joseph Gordon Levitt as a potential Riddler?

Christopher Nolan’s Inception was one of the biggest hits this summer. It had an interesting story and a great cast that helped make the movie better. However, there was one question that everybody wanted to know the answer to. Was the ending real or was it all part of a dream?

Michael Caine was recently interviewed by BBC and in that interview, Caine gives us the answer by telling us the true meaning of the ending. If you want to find out what he said, click after the jump to find out as this is a spoiler for folks who hasn’t seen the film yet (yes, there are people who haven’t watched Inception yet).
