Happy new trailers galore, folks! This week, after reasonable time to cool down from Avengers: Endgame, a new, spoiler-filled Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer has popped up and it’s glorious.
Let’s start with the low-down. After the awful events of Endgame, Peter Parker is taking a relaxing vacation with his friends, including Ned and MJ. Assumingly, his good buddies were also dusted for the past five years, otherwise they’d be a lot older. Along for the ride is Happy, Iron Man’s old right hand man and kind of his Aunt’s boyfriend. Together, they lament losing Tony and are just trying to live their lives day to day, protecting people.
That is, of course, until Nick Fury starts calling.
Spider-Man: Far From Home finally delivers a trailer that fans have been salivating for. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has quickly become a fan favorite, nailing the witty quips, the ‘dope with a heart of gold’ attitude, and intellect that fans have come to expect from Peter Parker. And he does it while being damned charming. Fans had lots of speculation about the second installment of the Sony-MCU franchise, after the events of Infinity War. Have any of those speculations been laid to rest? And how does a wacky villain like Mysterio translate to the big screen?
As we get closer to the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, it seems that Sony‘s desire to develop its own Spider-verse of films only grows stronger. Making the news today is further developments on the matter of Sony’s proposed shared universe within a shared universe, a plan that begins next fall with a movie featuring the antihero Venom and will be followed by the team-up of Silver Sable and Black Cat in Silver and Black.
