Often, while sipping one of my two mandatory drinks at the local Gentleman’s Club, I find myself wanting something more, something more genteel. Unfortunately I live on the East Coast and the movement to return the Gentleman’s entertainment to a more civilized and cultured state is occurring on the west coast. Just imagine it, while sipping your favorite liqueur in a darkened room, a curvaceous long legged beauty saunters out onto the stage under a single spot light, sits and begins to regal you with the adventures of Detective Lance Hardon.

That is exactly what is happening in L.A. The women — Scarlett Letter, Angelita Purrvertina, Miss Josie Bunnie, and La Fille Damnee — normally work as burlesque dancers and have made a transition to burlesque readers. This time around they read from detective stories, men’s magazines, trashy novels and sleazy sex paperbacks. And for kicks, there was a free wine reception after the show.

Nerdbastards let you in on sister duo, The Doubleclicks a couple of months ago. They have kept up the song a week challenge they set for themselves and last week put out this little number that got me thinking. What is the “Worst Superpower” ever? The tune is done solo this time, Aubry is off doing something of Earth shattering importance, I think she developed super powers and Angela is just jealous, thus the song.

Well what do you think? I found myself humming and making up new lyrics for this song most of the afternoon. What is the worst super power you can have?

Oh god, will someone call me an ambalamps (yes, that’s a reference to this classic web gem), I just pulled a fatality on my penis. I was watching some Mortal Kombat cosplayers (more like saline-injected porn stars paid to dress up) and shouted to my mighty member to “get over here” and after some hand-to-junk combos my manhood turned inside out. It was a flawless victory.

Over the weekend, the community manager for this year’s upcoming Mortal Kombat posted a handful of clips that feature cosplayers representing Sonya Blade, Kitana and Mileena. All three will be appearing at local Mortal Kombat tournament events across Europe this month,  and then the pan-European tournament final held at the The Gadget Show on Sunday April 17th at Birmingham’s NEC Centre, UK.. Bah! Woman with knives? Shouldn’t they be in the kitchen makin’ sammies? Anyway, these clips are clearly intended for an audience consisting of heterosexual men and homosexual women. Enjoy the Mortal Cumbat!

Message to makers of Pr0n. A feature length cosplay MK porno would sell better than the game, make it happen.

The times, they are a changing. Where once Nerds couldn’t get a girl to even say the words Dungeons and Dragons without smirking, laughing uncontrollably, and quickly making a hasty retreat, now it seems that attractive women want to dress up in our favorite nerdy costumes and dance for us. Back in my day we didn’t have it so good, it was a copy of Gore magazine and hopes that an Italian Horror movie review had some pictures with skin showing.

The music was pretty kicking, it was an edited version of Charisma Potion by MC Frontalot. The ladies in the video were:

Aaaaah Elfquest. I never read it, but I know a lot of people who do. It’s rather surprising that Hollywood hasn’t bastardized it with a movie. Will leave that to the fan-boys. Er….fan-girls.

A few geeky fangirls took it upon themselves to create a short, but rather impressive teaser trailer for an “ElfQuest” film. There isn’t much to the trailer, but according to the official ElfQuest Fan Fiction website, the project is a labor of love and their goal is to “create new fans and give existing ones a taste of the world we’ve loved for so long.”

Here’s what the actresses and producers had to say:

“Both of us have been fans of EQ since we were little girls, and this project is a complete labor of love. We are working actresses and producers in the New Media circle and when we discovered our shared lifelong love for this series we were spurred to action. ElfQuest showed us the heroines that we could aspire to become and its magic shaped us, ultimately leading us into the creative entertainment sphere. So we owe it a lot!”

Blah…blah…blah. Elf ears on scantily clad lovely ladies? I’m fapping with glee. MOAR PLZ!

With news of a Wonder Woman reboot from NBC, starring Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights), it looks like bracelets and tiaras are making a return. Wonder Woman has become known everywhere, from the newly updated comic book series, her new costume, they’ve even released a line of cosmetics for the princess of Themyscira. You can’t go anywhere without seeing the red, white, blue and gold at conventions anymore, seeing hundreds dressed as DC’s brunette feminine hero. She’s the biggest thing in cosplay right now and what better then to celebrate her recent success with a gallery of the wondrous woman with a special gallery of goodness?

Ah March, a time of magic and wonder, where the color green is everywhere as far as the eye can see. It’s in our holiday, our money and even dumped in the Chicago river, the grass is so jealous of this month it’s ridiculous. Yet, like the end of every double rainbow there is always a prize that’s better than gold and it’s simply sensuous. Leprechauns give you pots of gold, which is nice, but we here at Nerdbastards give you the ‘Sexy Cosplay Of The Week’ and that’s worth more then some dusty gold coins every week. A cosplayer is actually real and enjoyable, a leprechaun however is just a harassment lawsuit waiting to happen. So shine up those badges, get in line, it’s time to get this show rolling.

Off to the land of beer (yahoo!) and where the euro runs freer then then Bill Clinton‘s sex drive, it’s America’s good old pal Germany and it’s captivating beauty know as Kana. To her friends she’s known as Mandy but to us she’s known as ‘Will you marry me?” In between cosplay this student of biology enjoys the finer things in a sexy nerd’s life, like video games and RPG’s. If she’s not whooping friends in a round of Borderlands she’s probably knees deep into some good old horror movies. Described as I’m extremely strange, dreamy, shy and very freakish; this woman is the real reason the Berlin wall fell, not that cover up they put on tv. It’s like they threw together the best parts of Germany, subtracted all the negative stereotypes and Kana popped out of the easy bake sexy oven (I want one).

Storming the beach of her first ever cosplay convention Kana must have been pretty nervous, but since then has gone on to control Germany’s cosplay scene. From her take on anime titles Ranma 1/2 & Elfen Liedto video games Persona 3 and Dead or Alive; you might as well start modeling characters after Kana, not a drawing. Formerly known under the moniker ‘Heartcore’, attributed with being chosen in her youth, it’s a far cry from her new incarnation. She’s only turning 22 and it’s like she thinks she’s hitting her peak, fat chance there Fräulein. With a slew of future cosplay ideas knitted between her fingers Kana is far from being done ruling the German cosplay scene.

Can’t make the trip to the real home of Octoberfest anytime soon, fear not, you can always visit her on deviantart or her page on cure. Currently in Germany? Hit the nearest convention and you might just meet Germany’s best export since Bock (a dark, delicious beer). It’s nice to see that even a country with the history that Germany does can still put together something that would be it’s ultimate weapon in ruling the world. Looks like those clones of Hilary Duff will have to wait for now, Kana is the new number one.

That’s it, another week of ‘Sexy Cosplay of the week’, wrapped up with a nice nerdy bow. Remember, there’s a convention always around the corner and 9 times outta 10 there will always be a bigger nerd then you. Valentines Day is over. While the candy may be gone and the flowers wilted it doesn’t mean you won’t be getting anymore treats. It’s time for another (a)rousing edition of ‘Sexy Cosplay of The Week’ where we take one lucky lady and make her our star for day without any of the scandal or rehab. When you go to a convention it is filled with booths, babes and suits; not the cool suits either. People working the booths are dicks, babes at the booths are paid to be there (they don’t love you) and the suits are there to ignore you. The only saving grave of a convention is a cosplay gal, the one that doesn’t care that her photo is being taken or asked about her costume. When all else fails and the convention seems like a total bust stop and look around, the costume can more then make up for the lack of entertainment.

This week we speak the name of: Mogu

This week we (figuratively) purchase a plane ticket and fly over to the boot shaped country known as Italy, home to this week’s sexy cosplayer. Mogu, Gabriella to her friends, this student of architecture has been cosplaying since 2006 after being asked to by her friends and she hasn’t stopped since. If Mogu isn’t rocking her custom cosplay costumes she’s enjoying music like Placebo, The strokes, fellow Italian Rock band Subsonica or playing videogames. Besides watching shows like House and Friends Mogu really loves her cartoons, such as Disney, Miyazaki and Tim Burton cartoons. This part-time waitress, full-time student knows Engilsh, Italian (obvious), french and a little bit of spanish so we know she’s good with her tongue (for rolling those R’s pervs). Not only that she’s also rocking a Tinkerbell tattoo on her person, makes that tribal tattoo you got seem pointless now.

After the urging from her friends, not to mention help from her mother, Mogu made her first cosplay debut and the rest was cosplay history. Since then she has crafted many a costume, with one currently in the works for 2011, Magic Emi. On her site Mogucosplay she even displays the design of herself wearing the costume in cartoon form. How cool is that? Not only will she wear her design she even makes cartoon twists of them. Mogu has also appeared in various locations across all planes of social media, from the web to magazines like Cosplay Magazine. It’s easy to say you own the suit it’s even better to whip out a magazine that has you in it, a real hit with the fellas.

If your ever getting a ticket to Italy and there just so happens to be a convention that weekend swing on through. You might not understand what’s being said but you may run into Mogu herself, costume and all. When your done picking your jaw up off the floor say hi or the closest thing you can with a mouth full of drool. Can’t make it to get a slice worth the trip? Your in luck, just check out all her work on her personal homepage or her personal blog (you may need a translator). Remember to play nice though, being rude is still the same no matter what language you speak.

We’ve crossed yet another finish line in the race to the weekend and our sexy cosplayer. As another week comes to a close and the weekend approaches people somewhere are hard at work sewing. By the time you get to your local comic or anime convention the cosplayer will already be there, except their still stuck in the bathroom trying to get their tights on.
