Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have just released a brand-new announce trailer for the ‘Injustice 2‘ video game, the highly-anticipated sequel to ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us.’ Injustice 2, developed by publisher NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat franchise), will feature a massive roster of DC Superheroes and Villains that players can “build and power up.” (more…)
Thanks to a slip up on the Xbox Marketplace, the next guest fighter in NetherRealm Studios‘ highly anticipated new-gen brawler Mortal Kombat X may have been confirmed to be Predator. Given that Jason Voorhees, another classic horror icon, has already been confirmed for the game, it’s not too difficult to believe that Predator, the ultimate hunter, could be joining the expanding list of kombatants. The creature’s kick ass array of weapons and abilities would fit right in with Mortal Kombat’s brutal fighting style to be sure, and I can’t wait to see what kind of gameplay that translates into. Any button smashing fighter game is only as good as its story mode. With Mortal Kombat X, NetherRealm Studios’ next highly-anticipated installment in its legendary critically-acclaimed fighting game franchise, fans may feel indifferent.
On Friday, NetherRealm Studios presented its fifth “MKX Kombat Kast” live-stream in which they previewed story mode in Mortal Kombat X. You can now check out the gameplay footage from Episode 1, titled “Johnny Cage,” (skip to the 14:38 mark). (more…)
You may have to wait another week for the console release of Batman: Arkham Origins, but you can download the mobile version of the game right now for free! With so much build up surrounding Origins and even Origins:Blackgate, you’re probably wondering why we haven’t heard much about this game until the day it released. (more…)
Good news for you folks that decided not to go for Injustice: Gods Among Us when it was first released; NetherRealm Studios has announced that they will be releasing an “Ultimate Edition” of the superhero-fighting game just in time for the holiday season. What makes this release so “ultimate,” you ask?
It’s a little ridiculous how amped I am for NetherRealm Studios‘ new fighter featuring the characters of the DC Universe. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe this is most definitely not. Injustice: Gods Among Us has wowed us with every teaser, trailer and gameplay featurette, and they’re not slowing down one bit releasing yet another trailer at this week’s Tokyo Game Show in Japan.
Check out the bone-crushing, world shattering action in their latest trailer,
What’s impressed me so much is almost everything they’ve shown us is in-game action. The few cuts scenes shown are when a character initiates a combo, but all the interaction with the environment and fellow players is all controlled by you, and that’s exactly what you want from a fighter. This immersive experience they’re promising is a big reason I’m considering snagging this when it releases in April.
PLUS. Did you happen to recognize the voice comin’ outta Batman’s mouth!? That’s right, Kevin Conroy is voicing Bats in Injustice increasing the game’s coolness factor exponentially.
Will you picking up Injustice: Gods Among Us for either the Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii U?
[One, two, Freddy’s coming for you- on PS3 and Xbox 360 in the newest piece of Mortal Kombat DLC content.]
Having played the newest Mortal Kombat game, I’m happy to report (what most of you already know) that it’s a great mix of old-school and modern fighting conventions. Ed Boon and his creative team went back to MK’s roots. Back to the time of 2D arcade fun. The game play grabs the feel of Mortal Kombat 2. The games animation, sound and graphics are top notch! Honestly, it looks and feels good. Oh, and the fatalities are brutal and gory as ever. The most obscene and ridiculous yet. With that said, can someone please explain to me what the hell Freddy Krueger is doin’ in Outworld?
There has been one question on the minds of Mortal Kombat fans around the world. It has plagued their every hour, their every night, and even their darkest nightmares. When can I finally get my hands-on Freddy and pit him against my favourite Mortal Kombat warrior? Well the time has come and Freddy will be available on PlayStation Network tomorrow and Xbox LIVE very soon!
A variation of the classic Wes Craven character, he comes out swinging with two of his signature razor gloves and DLC launch trailer.
Don’t get me wrong, Freddy looks like he’ll give you a rip roaring good time in between tearing your opponent limb from limb, but where do the character cross-overs end; do we want them to end?
When will folks learn that when you make a website for a video game and have “hidden things” on that site, it’ll get hacked and leaked to the audience. That was the case for the upcoming 2011 Mortal Kombat 9 game as the site had voice samples of possible characters that may be in game.
The video below has those voice samples and these were the characters that were revealed: Goro, Quan Chi, Stryker, Noob Saibot, Sindel, Kabal, Shao Khan, Smoke, Shang Tsung and Ermac.
The other big news is that God of War’sKratos is guest appearing on the PS3 version of the game. While he may be playable with his own move set, he will not be playable in the story mode. Now folks are left wondering who would appear for the 360 version, with Master Chief and Marcus Fenix being heavily rumored. David Jaffe, the man that brought us Kratos and the first God of War game had this to say on Twitter:
Dude Kratos would have a FUCKALITY and fuck the SHIT out of Sonya AND Katana at the same motherfucking TIME!!!! 🙂
What do y’all think of this? Any of y’all excited for this game or is Mortal Kombat too old for you? Also, what do you think of a playable Kratos and who do you want to see on the 360 side of the game? Tell us by leaving a comment.
Mortal Kombat!!! Cue techno song. I’ve been a fan of the franchise since the Genesis days and knowing that the 9th game will be going back to it’s roots, just makes me a happy fat boy. In the video, we get co-creator Ed Boon talking about the history of the franchise and how they are changing things up for the new game. He admits that Mortal Kombat has had it’s bad moments but it seems that he and the crew are trying to make a legit fighting game this time around.
All I know is that spring, 2011 can’t come any sooner as I’m excited about the new fatalities, the X-ray focus moves, and the new story that is suppose to change the history of MK 1 to MK 3. How about you guys? Any of y’all excited about the game and if so, leave a comment on how you feel about the upcoming game.
With the live action short fim that came out earlier this week, Mortal Kombat has been on peoples mind like if it was the early 90’s again. To even further the MK buzz, NetherRealm Studios, formally Midway Games, revealed their E3 trailer for the game they have been working on and to no surprise it’s a new Mortal Kombat game. Sure, hearing that there is a new MK game coming out may not excite some of you but after watching the trailer, well, lets just say I had to go and change my pants. Yes folks, it is that awesome.
By the looks of the trailer, it seems that the new MK game will feature the 2D fighting style we all grew up loving by adding a new tag system in there. Also, seems like no new characters from the 3D era of MK has been shown from the trailer but I don’t think most people will miss any of them. Probably the best news is that the game will have its M rating once again, which means the fatalities will be the bloody gore that we all remember. Check out the trailer yourself and tell us what ya think.
