Given that both pictures and video have been leaked in the past couple of months fans and moviegoers have been speculating what the exact content of Jeff Wadlow‘s Kick-Ass 2 will be. Kick-Ass 2 co- creator Mark Millar has been quoted saying the sequel will be “controversial,” which Christopher Mintz-Plasse contested months ago stating the controversial scene involving super villain gang rape would not be in the film.
Even with the promise by Mintz-Plasse that the sequel would still be “fucked-up,” movie fans are still speculating the exact plot of Kick-Ass 2. Those speculations can now be put to rest as the official plot synopsis has been released.
We’ve posted a portion of the synopsis below for you to digest, check out the rest over at Coming Soon.
When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire, leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.
Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.
Did you die-hard Kick-Ass fans notice the subtle change the studio made in renaming Jim Carrey‘s character Colonel Stars as Colonel Stars “and Stripes?” It feels like a bit of a cheap decision tacking on the “Stripes” name rather than including the character in the sequel (Lieutenant Stripes is second-in-command to Colonel Stars), but it’s an adaptation of the comic book, changes are bound to happen.
Many of those changes have yet to be seen and probably will not be seen until the film’s official release date on June 28th, 2013, guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Kick-Ass 2 stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Morris Chestnut, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison and Jim Carrey.
Special thanks to Coming Soon for sharing this nugget of information.
Sony has released the official plot synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man, releasing this summer on July 3rd.
The Amazing Spider-Manis the story of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets.
As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance—leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices tot use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
The inclusion of a mystery surrounding Peter’s parent’s death is intriguing. Not being a huge Spider-Man aficionado I wasn’t aware his parents disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Or maybe I’ve just got a poor memory, but I don’t remember this being covered in Sam Raimi’s films. Either way, this story is set with Peter Parker still in high school and I’m betting we’ll have plenty of teen drama and scenes for Peter with discovering himself. Which for him is a much cooler journey, being that he has super spider powers and all.
What do you think? Are you pleased with the direction this Spider-Man movie is taking?
Next up, before Spider-Man swings back on screens in July, Marvel is bringing us their biggest super hero movies yet, The Avengers on May 4th. And in good ‘ole Marvel movie fashion there’s rumored to be a surprise cameo.
Here’s a clue: I was just talking about him.
Yup! Our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will supposedly be making an appearance in The Avengers. At least according to this slip-up from Jenny Agutter, who has a minor role in The Avengers, when she was interviewed by the Radio Times.
As for Agutter, she’s about to metamorphose again to appear alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson in upcoming Hollywood blockbuster The Avengers.
“I’m sworn to secrecy! I wasn’t allowed a script until I got there, and when I did I felt like a complete child being on big sets and a huge parking lot full of Winnebagos.“
She does let slip that two of these housed Spider-Man and Iron Man; we suspect Agutter won’t able to avoid sci-fi conventions for much longer.
It’s possible the mention of the webslinger is a mistake, particularly since Spider-Man’s movie is currently own by Sony and The Avengers by Marvel, but who knows? I’m sure Marvel wants to bring Spider-Man into their movieverse eventually, could this cameo be the beginning?

Open casting calls are being held in British Columbia for Man of Steel, and the notice included an official plot synopsis of Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Superman flick.
“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.”
What this tells us is it’s exactly as we’ve been speculating: the film explores everything that led up to Clark Kent’s decision to become Superman. The villains, we hear, will be General Zod and other aliens from Krypton.
