Omaze

Yesterday, we told you about an announcement concerning Star Wars and its 40th anniversary on this morning’s Good Morning America, and as it was written, so it was done. The announcement? Well, it had nothing to do with Star Wars: The Last Jedi or a trailer for said movie. Once your anger abates, you should continue reading to find out what the announcement was because it is actually pretty sweet. Would you like the chance to win the ultimate Star Wars vacation package? You really should because it’s pretty sweet, and all it will cost you is a donation to charity. (more…)

Ever dreamed of teaming up with Captain America? Who hasn’t? Short of an adventurous night out with an outgoing Cosplayer, being buddy buddy with ole Cap is only ever a fantasy in the minds eye. Holy Hippity Hoppity Robert Downey Jr. Bunny-Man!  When Downey first came onto Omaze last year, he offered fans the BEST DAY EVER by donating to an organization in need. The $2 million raised supported Julia’s House, a children’s hospice dedicated to caring for children with life-threatening illnesses, as well as their families.  Now Downey’s back and ready to give fans a chance to win another great VIP experience in conjunction with the upcoming release of Captain America: Civil War. Check out the video after jump. (more…)

Chris Pratt has joined forces with Omaze to raise money to build new facilities for the Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club. The grand prize includes a day on set with Pratt, and whoever else is filming that day, lunch, a GOTG2 custom costume along with a number of extras for those that donate increasing amounts to the campaign. To kick off the campaign, Pratt takes a tour of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 set where he runs into director James Gunn, and the side of a building in his golf cart. (more…)

The charity website Omaze has done some, pardon the pun, pretty o-mazing things with Hollywood over the last few years in their drive for giving back to both individual communities and the global environment.  The group has recently started working with the stars of the upcoming film Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice to not only raise money for a good cause, but also to give fans a chance at a once-in-a-lifetime experience. (more…)

Hamill Walks Hollywood Blvd. as Stormtrooper for Charity

mark-hamill-stormtrooper

I’ve never been to Los Angeles, but I take it that running into a Stormtrooper along Hollywood Blvd. is no big thing. It’s probably also no big deal to run into a celebrity either. How about this though, a celebrity in Stormtrooper armor, and more than that, one of the stars of Star Wars in Stormtrooper armor, offering you a chance to go to the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and meet the stars? No, this is not a Charlie Kaufman movie, this is the latest video for the Omaze campaign, Star Wars: Force for Change. (more…)

Gambit

Channing Tatum is one of the world’s most beloved male actors, though it is pretty easy to assume that his legions of fans may not necessarily be chasing him so that he can throw down a line from “Macbeth”.  Still, after his award winning turn in Foxcatcher, audiences are a bit more excited to see his take on everyone’s favorite Cajun X-Man, Gambit.  With X-Men: Apocalypse quickly approaching, many were hoping that audiences would be treated to a scene with the Ragin’ Cajun when the mutants return to the big screen on May 26, 2016.  Unfortunately, Tatum has officially killed those hopes.  According to a recent Reddit AMA, Tatum has confirmed, in no uncertain terms, that Gambit will not be appearing with his X-Men brethren any time soon. Are you excited for Terminator Genisys? After being bit by Rise of the Machines and Salvation, it is easy to understand if your excitement for the upcoming sequel/reboot is a bit muted.  After James Cameron’s seal of approval, however, chances are that Terminator fans will be more than a bit happy with the new entry of the 30 year old franchise.  Even with Cameron’s (who wrote and directed the first two, i.e. the best, entries in the franchise) backing of the film, franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn’t resist drumming up some excitement for the flick in the best possible way.
