Sources have confirmed the main villain in the upcoming Wonder Woman film will be Ares, the God of Conflict.  Although trailers have revealed most of the action appearing to take place on the battlefields of World War I, speculation has abounded that the Amazon superheroine would have a more formidable, super-powered rival in her solo big screen debut. Although actor Danny Huston has been cast as an antagonist of some kind, it’s unclear whether or not he and Ares, one of her primary antagonists from the comic books, will be one and the same or perhaps one working in service of the other.  (more…)

There’s a new International trailer out for director Patty JenkinsWonder Woman starring Gal Gadot. While most won’t understand the Russian, there’s no misunderstanding the action in the film that is being promoted heavily overseas and that is just the way things should be. There’s no trying to tie this movie into a larger DC Cinematic Universe, this movie is about strangely enough, Wonder Woman. Imagine that. Hopefully Patty Jenkins will continue to be able to fend off all the studio executive’s notes trying to shoehorn anything and everything Justice League into the movie.  (more…)

There’s a second trailer for director Patty Jenkins‘ take on Wonder Woman hitting the Internet tomorrow. Today you can enjoy a quick teaser posted by Gal Gadot on Twitter. Thankfully Jenkins has NOT left the Wonder Woman production over creative differences, but don’t worry, there is still time for it to happen before the June 2nd, 2017 release date. [Sarcasm] Check out the second teaser below for what is looking to be the first true break out film in the Warner Bros. DC Cinematic Universe (more…)

There’s been a flurry of Internet angst over the critical reviews of David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad. The embargo on review postings lifted and the early news from critics was not good. Currently Suicide Squad has a 29% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and some fans even started and then removed a petition which received over 15,000 signatures to remove Rotten Tomatoes from the internet of all things. It’s been a whirlwind of on social media and forum comments, often turning quite nasty very quickly. Director Patty Jenkins took a break from editing Wonder Woman to check out Warner Bros. and DC‘s latest superhero flick and came away confused. Confused at why those critics panned the film the way they did. (more…)

Warner Bros. is hoping to make big waves at this years SDCC. Saturday the 23rd at 11:30 Warner Bros. will take over Hall H when master of ceremonies Conan O’Brien (Conan) starts things off with cast members and potential first looks at Suicide Squad, The LEGO Batman Movie, Kong: Skull Island, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Wonder Woman. Everything was outlined in Warner Bros. latest SDCC16 press release and while it may be a tad bit too soon (crossing your fingers might help) for a full-blown Wonder Woman trailer, a clip or teaser from director Patty Jenkins seems just about right. She’ll be on stage with Gal Gadot and Chris Pine for the Wonder Woman part of the Hall H Warner Bros. Panel. Included in the press release was the first official synopsis for Wonder Woman. (more…)

There are some new on location pictures of the currently shooting Wonder Woman movie directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster). The pictures were taken at an undisclosed beach location in Italy last Thursday and give a look at the first meeting on Themyscira, better known as Paradise Island, between pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) and the Amazonian Princess Diana (Gal Gadot). Along with these are a couple featuring the horse riding Amazonians attacking a group of German soldiers. (more…)

Straight from the island of Themyscira comes a look at Wonder Woman‘s Amazon companions. These aren’t just the run of the mill Amazons though, these are the women that will help teach, train, and shape Princess Diana (Gal Gadot) into the woman who will become the greatest female warrior of the ages. Not only do you get a look at their costumes, director Patty Jenkins (Monster) discusses how that look came about. (more…)

Gal-Gadot-as-Wonder-Woman

Patty Jenkins. Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Now you’re up to date on everything about Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment‘s next big hill to conquer in terms of its expanded superhero universe. It’s apparently supposed to begin shooting this fall, but there hasn’t been a lot of news about it other than the announcement of a director, and the casting of the film’s titular heroine, who will appear in next year’s Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and her love interest. Most vexing, there isn’t even any absolute certainty about *when* the Wonder Woman is taking place in. Well, as luck would have it, there’s some news about that very subject this morning. (more…)
