In a move that has excited all the Pokémon fans who have following the franchise since it was first released, The Official Pokémon Channel on YouTube has released a new series of shorts in the style of the much loved Pokémon Origins. Released regularly between now and the end of year, the episodes of Pokémon Generations will be in three- to five-minute installments and will focus on the key events from the Pokémon game series. While it doesn’t quite replace the anime, which is still primarily targeted at ten-year-olds despite all the adults that remain loyal to it, it’s a step in the right direction for all the ageing nerds who still dream of being Pokémon Trainers. Ronda Rousey is passionate about many things in life.  One of them obviously being mixed martial arts, a field in which she is a champion, and another is… Pokemon.  Her affinity for nerd culture extends even farther, though, which she has proved on many occasions.  She introduced herself in a Reddit AMA by saying, “Ronda here. My favorite Pokemon is Mew and I used to moderate a Pokemon forum. I’m an active player on WOW and a Mage named Randa on TaichiPanda – I’m on the 3rd Game Of Thrones book and will shank a bitch who tries to give shit away about the series cause you watched the show already.”  She recently payed homage to her poke-obsession in a video for SportsCenter, where we see her training dressed as the one and only Pikachu. Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

ABOVE:  There many Psylocke cosplays, but none as accurate and sexy as Stella Chuu. She should have played Psylocke in X3. At least we would of had something to look at.

I’m all for artistic freedom, but this shit is fuckin’ terrifying and kinda disgusting. What you see in the picture above are crazy, massive rats that were captured and killed and then stuffed and made to look like Pikachus. Why? Because the art group that did this… well, they’re Japanese.

In fact, they’re the insane Japanese art group called Chim Pom. I actually hadn’t heard of them before this, but apparently they’ve been into some pretty explosive shit and they’ve been making a name for themselves as batshit nutjobs.

Check ’em out in the video below, where they talk about the Pikachu project and then some.

Nintendo’s Pokemon franchise is known for it’s cartoons, toys and the turn based monster battling game that started one of best selling franchises in gaming history. Now replace all that with ‘Pokémon Type: Wild’, a fan-made and playable video game taking those basic moves and evolving them into fast-paced fist fights. Whoever made this game thank you, this gives those of us that feel we’re a bit too old for the Pocket Monsters another chance to enjoy Pikachu onscreen again. Cute little lighting mouse.

If you want to play this you can follow our download link and follow the how to if you need help. It’s sad that Nintendo really lost out on not thinking of this years ago but the injunction could be anytime so play it while you can.
