Princess Peach

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

Above: If you’re not already following Sir Patrick Stewart (@SirPatStew) on Twitter, this is the kind awesome you’re missing. Prof. Xavier stumbling upon a real Xavier school. [Nerd Approved]

The Interwebz, where nerd art runs wild. Oh, and they draw a lot too. Yes, in the dark alleys of the internet it can mean the inner child crushing experience of finding out the unseen gadgets that Inspector Gadget had (you don’t want to see). Other times? Oh those other times… it’s fantastic and magical drawings that make the imagination soar and the geek spirit reach new heights.

It’s time for a Nerd Art Dump.

ABOVE: “Face it Tiger, I’m a better “Spider-Man” then you’ll ever be. I have boobs” Mary Jane Watson taking over the role of New York’s web slinging wall-crawler and the skin tight suit doesn’t help too much… It works just perfectly. [Red Headed Jackpot]

ABOVE: GLaDOS of Portal 2 cosplayed by Tenori-Tiger. Of all the human forms I’ve seen of GLaDOS I think this is the first to reall capture her detached, yet menacing nature. I can already hear her dry insults. [GeeksAreSexy]

ABOVE: A Pokemon/Gundam mashup? We deserve this anime. Who wound’t want to see Pokemon with their own mechanical enhancements squaring off against other giant mechs!? Think of the all the adorable bloodshed! (Nerd Approved)

The Interwebz, where nerd art runs wild. In the wrong places you’ll find pics of where Batman keeps the Robin “tryouts” or bootlegs of  those exercise vidoes Wonder Woman made in the late eighties. In the right places you can find mind blowing nerd based art.

Welcome to the right place.

We collect it, you enjoy it, and we are all better for it.

ABOVE: Ever wonder what it would have been had Clint Eastwood actually been cast as Batman? Wonder no more! Aged, pissed off, a carrying a case of permanent smoker’s lung. It’s a perfect blend of Bruce Wayne and the “Man with no name”. Definatly not someone you want to meet during a criminal heist. [Geek Tyrant]

Hit the jump for comic book romance novels, The Avengers “What if” and MOAR !

The Interwebz is a great place for nerdy art and the like. A lot of the time it’s crazy things like Super Mario “laying pipe” (and we don’t meaning plumping) or a quick glance at Poison Ivy pruning her pussy willow (and we don’t mean gardening). Plenty of things that will leave you in need of years of therapy or a good old fashioned Men in Black style brain scrubbing. Hey, it’s the internet folks. Luckily there is always the counter balance of some mind blowing nerd based art. We collect it, you enjoy it, and we are all better for it.

ABOVE: Rogues mutant power of absorption is a double edged sword. You can look, but can’t touch. Just one caress would probably kill a normal man like you or me. Although by the looks of it, it’d sure as hell be worth it. [Deviant Art]

Hit the jump for an anime Princess Peach, X-babies, Batman in chains and MOAR!

Any Star Wars fan will know exactly what the above splashes of color are- an awesomely and artistically rendered “X-wing Fighter”. Created by Nicholas Hyde as part of a series of recreations of the famous George Lucas franchise, these grungy space ships were turned into amazing works of art. And if your interested in owing your own print by all means head to Nicholas’ etsy page. [Geek Tyrant]

Women are awesome. They raise us, teach us right from wrong, and in the case of Natalie Hall, put together some amazing pieces of art like a pro. Just glancing at Natalie’s portfolio you can tell that everything she draws on paper it’s going to be something that has to be seen and shared. So we did. From the oddly creepy Totoro to the almost storybook like take on Princess Merida of Pixar’s upcoming Brave, Natalie has some mad skills. [Comics Alliance]

Let’s face it, Princess Peach is just plain cute in her royal garbs, but put her in a  skin tight racing suit and it’s dead sexy! Created by Deviantart artist Twilit-Arawen, this anime version of the Mushroom Kingdom royal is definitely worth a rear-end collision. [Deviant Art]

A manly beard, an Aeris tattoo, the severed head of the most hated villain in Final Fantasy history! Artist Gonzalo Ordóñez Arias, a.k.a. Gonzo, took Final Fantasy’s Cloud Strife and an him a straight injection of bad ass and threw the classic gaming character into overdrive. Guess that what happens when you impale a man’s girlfriend after 45+ hours building up her stats. [Kotaku]

Everyone’s been a young diaper filling baby at some point, even the mighty X-men, and artist Skottie Young crafted the perfect set of mutant powered children. These kids just look simply adorable, even if each one could kill you- especially the baby Wolverine. Professor X must have armed guards in the nursery during nap time. [TechnaBob]

Timothy Lim has shown himself to be one of the most versatile artists we’ve ever seen put pen to paper in recent weeks. With a gift to place pop culture’s best into any style or decade he chooses. Remixing the Avengers into an Art Nouveau masterpiece and mashing the armor of Nintendo‘s Samus with the Autobot commanding Optimus Prime, Timothy is very comfortable bringing his ideas to the table. Check out Lim’s ninjaink account on deviantART for more. [Comics Alliance]

Sure, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch sounds like she’s smoked 5 packs a day for the last decade, but does it really matter if she still has the body of a college cheerleader? Deviant artist Gattadonna used only watercolors and markers to transform this villainous second in command into awesome WWII-esque nose are that would look absolutely amazing on a certain floating cocoon shaped lair. [Deviant Art]

GET A ROOM! Wait, there are clearing in someones basement…. but still. Seriously, this piece by Kevin Nowlan is just another prelude to Batman and Catwoman continuing the love-hate relationship that is purely based on the make-up sex only a hero and a villain can have. At least now we know Robin is a bit of a voyeur. His reaction is pretty priceless though. [Kevin Nowlan]

And finally, you draw science fiction then at some point you’ve probably drawn inspiration from Ralph McQuarrie. Sadly he recently passed away at the age of 84. His concept work for the Star Wars universe is legendary. Ralph is the man who brought to light many of the iconic designs you’ve come to love and without him they would have forever stayed in the dark. Thank you for some of science fiction’s greatest masterpieces Ralph, your one with the force now. ABOVE: Arya Stark, all grown up. With tattoos! Knowing Arya I don’t think she’d really be seen in a dress if she could manage it, but a giant sword? Yeah, that sounds like her. Visit TDW: Geek for the whole beautiful photo shoot.

What. The. Fuck?! It’s a fake Apple store now complete with its own fake, dead Steve Jobs. Really, people!? (Reddit)

The Interwebz is a great place for artists to share their nerdy work, even though the majority of the time it’s a bunch of fuckin’ weird shit. There are a ton of awesome things to behold every day but we’re fuckin’ lazy bastards, so we just put it all together once a week to keep your mojos happy. Because I wasn’t able to get the stock pile up last week, we’ll be having a double feature this week showcasing only the best of the best from the past two weeks! Buckle down, guys, and have your socks at the ready.

We’ll start off this week with some work by Marco D’Alfonso of the Iron Giant being fuckin’ hungry and deciding to nom himself some Optimus Prime.

Nerd Art Stock Pile? There’s a lot of nerd art on the net. Mostly it’s fan-fiction tentacle Pr0n, but hey we’re not complaining. We see so much neato art work on a daily basis, but for whatever reason they don’t make it to the front page of Nerd Bastards. We’re either lazy, or a piece of stand alone artwork isn’t enough to warrant a full post. Mostly we’re lazy. But, who are we to rob you of this net glory? We’re bastards but we’re not assholes. So here’s a roundup of the latest Nerd Art; intended for eye masturbation purposes.

It’s a known fact that Zombies make everything better. It’s true. Such as the case with Star Wars. Just look at Billy Tackett’s one-sheet titled ‘Star Wars: A New Corpse’ (pictured above). As you can see this piece features Luke, Leia and Darth Vader in the original movie poster set up but all zombified. Don’t you dare tell me that a ghoulish version of Star Wars as depicted here wouldn’t be amazeballs?  Oh, random sick thought. Zombie Leia kissing Zombie Luke. That’s incest necrophilia. eh, still no where as disturbing as the fat on George Lucas’s neck.

Like Bill’s necro take on Star Wars? Head over to http://www.billytackett.com/ to see more of his cool artwork!
