That Bryan Singer fella sure does love social media.  Continuing the path that he has taken to connect directly with fans for quite some time now – and ramped up even further during the production of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the director of the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse has been giving his followers a fairly steady stream of cool photos and surprisingly-informative behind-the-scenes content.  Today we received another tidbit from him – check this crazy photo of the whole world going sideways!

Avengers: Age of Ultron is introducing some fairly heavy weight Marvel comic book characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting with Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). To help audiences get ready for all these new characters The Mighty-Marvel-Marketing-Powers-That-Be have put together this little intro video with director Joss Whedon. (more…)

Age-of-Ultron-Twins

As we countdown to the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, which, in North America, is now barely 40 days away, every new look we get at the film is a banquet for the eyes, and a fest for the senses. We can’t wait! A new mini trailer came out today via the film’s Twitter account, and it offered us several never before seen glimpses at the movie, but something stood out. You may have noted before that while we’ve seen a lot of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch respectively, we haven’t, as of yet, heard them talk. Well, that’s all about to change once you see this new trailer, and we’ll tell you right now, if you like silly Eastern European accents, you’re about be over the moon. (more…)

Quicksilver-slow-mo-scene

Everyone that came out of Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days of Future Past raved about the Quicksilver scene. Evan Peters, with a little help from the special effects department, stole the damn show right out from under Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and Hugh Jackman. It was the first thing anyone talked about when talking about that movie. Now we’re finding out that if Matthew Vaughn, the first director chosen for the job before he dropped out to direct Kingsman: The Secret Service , had stayed and finished the film, Quicksilver wouldn’t have even been in the movie. Who would have filled that void? (more…)

Marvel recently released a new digital comic, Avengers: Age of Ultron Prelude – This Scepter’d Isle (Say that five times fast), that lays it all out for anyone speculating about how Marvel will handle Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch’s (Elizabeth Olsen) origins when translating them from the comics to the big screen in Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Gotta warn you, there be spoilers ahead and if you want to stay blissfully unaware… don’t click-through. If you do, it’s all on you. (more…)

With all of the buzz around the Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Ultron appearing in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, it might be easy to forget that the Vision, a fan favorite character from the Avengers comic books with deep ties to the film’s maniacal robot adversary, is also making his silver screen debut in director Joss Whedon’s sequel. That’s a shame because, as all of the concept art suggests, the Vision’s big-screen appearance looks to be stunning. However, if you watched Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop! last night on ABC, eagle-eyed viewers caught a fleeting glimpse of the Avengers’ favorite synthezoid. (more…)

Since the announcement that the character Quicksilver and his sister, mutant children of X-Men villain Magneto, would appear in both X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Avengers: Age of Ultron, there’s been a question as to how Ultron director Joss Whedon would deal with the matter of the twins’ genetic heritage. At issue is the fact that X-Men and the Avengers do not inhabit the same movie universes: 20th Century Fox owns the film rights to the X-folks while Marvel Studios hold the movie rights to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. However, Quicksilver and his sister Scarlett Witch are characters that exist in a grey area as far film rights are concerned, which gives both studios the chance to use them in their stories. Still, Fox owns the movie rights to the term “mutant.” So, if they can’t be called mutants, how will Whedon explain Quicksilver and his sister the Scarlet Witch’s origins in Ultron? Comments by Marvel Studios suggests that the explanation will still be not quite human. (more…)

If you’re a fan of X-Men: Days of Future Past, then you likely got a kick out of Evan Peters’ portrayal of one of the fastest men alive, Quicksilver. Apparently, he charmed his way into audience’s hearts enough that 20th Century Fox is feeling like he needs more screen time. And while we could all expect him to make at least a cameo appearance in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, it seems as if he may be getting his own solo flick as well. Read on for the juicy details. Marvel is just winning all over the place this week. Fans (and likely the studio heads) of the comic book publisher/movie studio cheered when the ridiculous box office numbers for Guardians of the Galaxy were reported on Monday; they cheered even more uproariously when Warner Bros. flinched with respect to the release date of Batman v. Superman, which was also held by Marvel’s Captain America 3 until yesterday when WB decided to change dates. Still, with all of this excitement, Joss Whedon managed to up the still take it to the next level with this simple tweet: (more…)
