Seriously… This may be one of the creepiest Mario videos I have seen. It’s as if Mario was put into the Silent Hill universe and someone cranked the fucked up meter to 11. Hell, even Shigeru Miyamoto reminds me of a creature from Silent Hill and don’t get me started on Reggie Fils-Aime and that look he has.
While watching this video though, I did find a hidden message behind it, which was Mario is all fucked up thanks to the Wii. Whoever made this video believes that Nintendo is slowly killing Mario because of Wii and it’s games that are aiming towards a casual gamer/family audience. Obviously, the maker of this video hasn’t played any of the Super Mario Galaxy gamesas it has placed it self as a legit and great Mario game.
Another hidden message can be that even though Nintendo has announced and are releasing/already released games towards the original/hardcore fans, it may be too late as the damage is already done.
Either way, check the video out as it’s probably something you may have not seen before and may see the hidden message that I was talking about. One thing for sure, I know I won’t be able to look at Reggie and Miyamoto the same again.
You know, only on the internet is where you’ll see people get serious with the whole console war argument. While Nintendo said that they wouldn’t be part of the so-called console war when the Wii came out, gamers couldn’t help but to add Nintendo in the scene. Now, we have the iPhone and while there are gamers who wouldn’t count it as a “gaming platform,” one can’t deny the many games the apple product has.
It also seems that Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, was recently interviewed and said that he see’s the iPhone a bigger threat than the Xbox 360. Before you disregard this statement, think about it. Both the Wii/DS and iPhone has a HUGE install base and they are both aiming for the casual gamers so one can see why Fils-Aime may have made the arguments. The only problem Nintendo has is the software sales being low thanks to piracy and/or third party games not selling well where as for the iPhone, people are not afraid to pay for $1 games since it may be worth the risk.
What do you guys think about this? You think Nintendo does have a threat in the form of Apple or does Nintendo have nothing to worry about? It was a month ago when Steve Jobs said that the iPhone is the best portable gaming device. Tell us what you think by leaving a comment after the break.
