Rick and Morty
Whether you come to comic-con looking for toys, panels, or to raid the back issue bins in search of those books that you need to fill your collection, you can’t miss the breathtaking cosplay that fills the show floor. Homemade costumes that took months of nights spent losing fingerprints to a glue gun or hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of dollars spent on pro made props that help to blur the line between fan film grade — both were all over the Jacob Javitz Center for New York Comic Con this past weekend. And while no one could capture all of the wildly imaginative and incredibly geeky looks, we did pull a few selections from our time there for you to see. Rick and Morty, Negan, Game Of Thrones, and a few surprises — hopefully there’s something for every single fan.
well, that is if you were expecting extreme awkwardness and… ok, it is really awkward.
So, without going to far into it, there is this thing called a MEGACHURCH and sadly it’s not a lame transformer, no it is a place run by a
douche man named Joel Osteen that is currently under a flood of vinegar bad press for refusing to open his church to victims of Hurricane Harvey. So, the creator and star of TV’s Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, used his guest spot on the H3H3productions podcast to prank the churches prayer line (in a voice not dissimilar from the booze fueled vitriol filled Rick Sanchez from the aforementioned cartoon.)
The result? Pure unrefined gold, and awkwardness. (more…)
It didn’t take Rick nine seasons after all for the creators of Rick and Morty nor did it take 97 more years: Dan Harmon and Justin Royland scored some for real and the Internet is abuzz with the news! It wasn’t just the co-creators either, the whole team behind the hit show got a chance to try some of the McDonald’s Teriyaki Szechuan Sauce made famous recently by the first episode in the third season (and the film Mulan it was used to promote all the way back in 1998). Not only did news of the tasting hit the web, they released a video of them trying it!
While many companies have no clue when it comes to handling social media marketing, there are a few that truly get it and stand above the rest. Arby‘s cardboard artist is one example of a company doing it right. McDonald‘s just joined those ranks with a smooth and crafty gift for Justin Roiland, co-creator of Rick and Morty. Check out the details below. (more…)
It seems like we have been waiting forever for Rick and Morty to return. We were fortunate to enjoy Adult Swim’s usual April 1st stunt, which just happened to show the first episode of Season 3, and made us once again crave McDonald’s Szechuan sauce (don’t be surprised if that makes a comeback). Since then, we have not heard a peep for the new season. There were even rumors that there was trouble behind the scenes between co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland had deteriorated during the making of a third season of the cult show. Both have denied that was the case and they have just been hard at work on delivering the new season. Lucky for us, the third season now has a start date.
The first episode of Rick and Morty Season 3 was released in just about the most Rick and Morty way imaginable – on April Fool’s Day, through a peculiar link that no one quite wanted to click because it seemed all too conveniently like a prank. The brave few who did dare click it were treated to the first episode of the long-awaited third season, which was streamed throughout the day. Sadly, the rest of the season did not follow and it was later announced that fans would have to wait until summer to see any more. (more…)
Adult Swim pulled a fast one on fans when they ‘leaked’ the first episode for Rick and Morty’s third season as a reverse April Fool’s gag, but fans have been eagerly awaiting more of the hit show. Adult Swim has granted us all a reprieve from the disturbingly long wait for more content and it came in the form of a surprise tie-in with the release of Alien: Covenant. While that film isn’t receiving the greatest reviews right now, it fits perfectly into a universe that sees a brilliantly deranged alcoholic scientist who travels the cosmos getting into wacky adventures. If there was a union fellow Nerds could appreciate, it would be one that includes the likes of Steve Jackson Games’ Munchkin series and the ever-offensive and sarcastic, Rick & Morty. Now, thanks to USAopoly, that union is finally happening and we are definitely ready to get schwifty with it! Steve Jackson Games confirmed the set was being produced back in February, but we finally got some details on what to expect and even more importantly, when to expect it so set your portal guns to the Munchkin Universe, because that’s where Rick and Morty are finally heading!
Rick and Morty fans have been salivating ever since the surprise Season 3 premiere aired, both at the prospect of a new season this summer and, of course, over Szechuan Chicken McNugget sauce. For those that can’t wait, the team behind Adult Swim‘s animated Sci-fi adventures have taken that Rick and Morty madness and translated it into a VR experience. So if it’s your dream to be belched at by an alcoholic scientist while learning valuable lessons about the futility of life as a clone, boy are you in luck! (more…)
Want to gauge just how popular a show is? Don’t worry, the Internet will tell you. And right now, social feeds are still wildly a buzz thanks to the long-awaited third season premiere of Rick and Morty which aired on April Fool’s Day. However, Rick and Morty is something truly special in that, it is so popular, it has the influential power to bring back a retired 20-year McDonalds dipping sauce. (more…)
