Each and every week we scour the Internet for nothing but the best in nerdy art. We leave no digital stone unturned, we poke and prod every nook and cranny of the Interwebz. Why? Because we love you, and we love to bring you weekly feed of nerd art.
On with the dump!
Above: When your planet is rocking two suns you need some grade ‘A’ marketing to bring in those customers. So here is a Princess Leia Coppertone ad by Casey Weldon. [MissKateQuinn]
Hit the jump for Young Justice, the art of Alex Ross and more. (more…)
The Interwebz, where nerd art runs wild. Oh, and they draw a lot too. Yes, in the dark alleys of the internet it can mean the inner child crushing experience of finding out the unseen gadgets that Inspector Gadget had (you don’t want to see). Other times? Oh those other times… it’s fantastic and magical drawings that make the imagination soar and the geek spirit reach new heights.
It’s time for a Nerd Art Dump.
ABOVE: “Face it Tiger, I’m a better “Spider-Man” then you’ll ever be. I have boobs” Mary Jane Watson taking over the role of New York’s web slinging wall-crawler and the skin tight suit doesn’t help too much… It works just perfectly. [Red Headed Jackpot]
Hit the jump for Childhood Avengers, Game of Thrones beers and MOAR! (more…)
Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.
Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The boys of Marvel/DC would like to wish you a Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving and share what they’re thankful for. Like Ghost Rider, whose thankful for second chances.
For your Monday morning…err afternoon enjoyment here’s video of sexy women being painted to look like some of our favorite super women. Plus, they’re Brazilian, and being painted up for Rio De Janeiro’s Carnival. The video is NSFW, nipple can been seen on more than one these lovely ladies. Watch over at io9 and if you need even more super-powered, body-painted eye candy click over to Globo (sign-in required). Bleeding Cool also managed some screencaps, which are below the jump, which are again NSFW. Unless everyone else at work wants to look at titties, then I think your all right.
Body painting adds a hint of realism to what are usually outrageously designed costumes. And these women, just like women in comics, have the ability for their boobs to defy gravity. It’s just not fair! You’ll never see Wonder Woman or Elektra have a saggy day, never. Grr. Of course for me, personally, I wouldn’t mind if they had painted up a few fellas. Ryan Reynold’s Green Lantern costume already looks painted on, they should just skip out on the CGI and paint him up.

What’s up Bastards! After having some damn problems we are back and so is DVD Tuesday! Since Tuesday has just passed on, I decided to do a “lite” version and pretty much recommend what came out last week and this week as well.
In other words, I’m only going to list the stuff that you should at least check out. You can expect a full return of DVD Tuesday next week but for now, check after the jump to see what came out and see if there is something you want! (more…)
I could start this off by quoting the whole honor of Greyskull line but that would just make me look like a lazy bastard and I’m sure you would roll your eyes at it. Anyway, this year marked the 25th anniversary of She-Ra: Princess of Power. That’s right folks, the show with a female warrior that proved to boys that even girls can kick ass turned 25 years old.
CNN Entertainment did a pretty good article and an interview with the voice of She-Ra, Melendy Britt. The interview, which is available after the jump, consist of Britt explaining how She-Ra was a role model, who she thinks should play as She-Ra if they made a live action movie of it now, and Sea Hawk.
While I was only able to catch this and other He-Man shows through later syndication, you can’t deny the impact She-Ra has made in nerd pop culture. Leave a comment on any good memory that you have about She-Ra, the cartoons, the toys, etc. and also check out that interview after the break.
A news and entertainment blog for nerd pop culture. We are vulgar, debaucherous, and funny bastards that pilfer the internet (or interwebz, if you like) for the news you need so that you don't have to. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll often shake your fist in an angry fury but your time here is worth the price of admission (which is free for those of you not paying attention)
