Super Bowl LI

Of all the movies to air commercials during tonight’s Super Bowl, it’s probably John Wick: Chapter 2 that will benefit the most. Why? Because the release of John Wick: Chapter 2 is less than a week away. It’s going to be a very competitive weekend at the box office with three huge studio releases including John Wick and LEGO Batman Movie, but it’s contender number three that enjoys a little humour at its expense in the John Wick Super Bowl ad. If you like things a shade darker, like Fifty Shades Darker, the makers of John Wick don’t want you to make the obvious choice this Valentine’s Day weekend.  (more…)

Through the Fast and Furious series there have been a lot of amazing stunts. There was racing through the streets of Rio dragging a huge safe in Fast 5, there was the pursuit of a cargo plane down the world’s largest runway in Furious 6, and a drone strike rained down hellfire on our intrepid heroes in Furious 7. So what on Earth can the eighth movie of the franchise do to take things up another notch? How about a submarine attack and a new t-shirt? (more…)

The first Logan trailer featured the Johnny Cash cover of “Hurt” and it immediately set a tone for the upcoming R-rated Wolverine movie, reported to be the last featuring Hugh Jackman in the title role. Well, just in time for Super Bowl LI, we get another very atmospheric look at Logan set to the tune of “Amazing Grace.” Based on the 30-seconds of footage we see in the ad, which aired during tonight’s big game, it’s the bad guys that are going to be looking for some “Amazing Grace” as they dare to cross the Wolverine one last time. Stranger Things

Stranger Things, last year’s nostalgia-driven cultural phenomenon is already coming back for a second season. After all, we need to see more of Eleven, the guys, and the Upside Down, right? Plus Barb need justice! The second season of the show is currently in production and the cast and crew are hard at work bringing us 9 new episodes this summer (hopefully).

Holy Hellicarrier! It looks like Captain America and Nick Fury will face off over Super Bowl LI. Super-Falcons-Fan Samuel L. Jackson popped champagne last night when the Falcons won the NFC Championship game in a decisive 44 to 21 victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. That means Fury vs Psylocke (Olivia Munn) leads us to Captain America (Chris Evans) vs Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in Super Bowl LI. Check out the tweets below. (more…)
