In 2012, Universal Pictures did something weird, they released a Jason Bourne movie without Jason Bourne. It was a bold move that did not pay off despite the presence of Jeremy Renner, who at the time was making a play to take over every major Hollywood franchise. But Mission: Impossible stuck with Tom Cruise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains without a Hawkeye solo movie, and this summer, the Bourne legacy will return to the powerful hands of Matt Damon, who returns for more global @$$ kicking in this first look at the imaginatively named Jason Bourne. The sudden announcement of 10 Cloverfield Lane‘s imminent release last month caught all observers by surprise, especially since it features three well-known and busy actors – Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Gallagher Jr. and John Goodman. The fact that producer J.J. Abrams could pull off another secret Cloverfield project, especially with top-drawer acting talent, is a magic trick the man behind the mystery box deserves a lot of credit for pulling off. Adding fuel to the speculative fire now is a new 30-second ad that premiered during the Super Bowl, and while the first trailer showed off the tension indoors, this TV commercial offers hints of what’s happening outdoors. Alright, Marvel, you already have our money – now, two of your biggest stars have stolen our hearts with their off-screen “rivalry”. In case you haven’t been paying attention to the Twitterverse, a couple of weeks back, Captain America and Star-Lord (or, Chris Evans and Chris Pratt, if your prefer those monikers) decided to bet on the Big Game. Now, the final pass has been thrown (and caught, albeit by the other team), and it is time to settle on that bet and, of course, the Two Chrises (I see a reality show in their somewhere) have decided to settle the bet in the best way possible. I know that the nerd faithful by and large were somewhat disappointed by The Amazing Spider-Man. I’m one of those people. That might explain why Sony was working extra hard over Super Bowl weekend to load us up with so many new teasers, trailers and ads that we’ll all get excited for the upcoming sequel in earnest. Call me a sucker, but I fell for it.
But in case you’re not like me, Sony is going further to convince you Doubting Thomases to give Amazing another try by seemingly stitching together all the Super Bowl ads in a super-mega-trailer that’s a total 3-and-a-half minutes long. Forget the Seahawks and the Broncos, game day is really going to be about setting up the bigger fight between the Star-Spangled Avenger and his mysterious new adversary in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. As these things go now, here’s the teaser for the ad that will air during Sunday’s Super Bowl.
‘Star Trek Into Darkness’: Cumberbatch irritated He Can’t Talk More About His Role – Film Gets New App and Superbowl Spot
Most films have an increasingly difficult time keeping the plot of their film’s casting a secret, but not J.J. Abrams. He had what we’ll call “the incident” last year while shooting Star Trek Into Darkness. Basically, some set images leaked across the net and it sent Abrams into such a fury that he put up a wall of shipping containers to block out any more sneaky shots from passers-by. Since then, he’s been better able to keep everyone guessing through clever misdirection and actors staying silent when questioned. It hasn’t been easy for one particular individual however.
Benedict Cumberbatch is already known to be the villain in Star Trek Into Darkness. The trailers and public knowledge have made that very clear. Who he is specifically playing, however, remains a mystery. Since J.J. likes to keep things on the down low, the actor still cannot talk about his role. During his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cumberbatch said he’d much rather like to get out in the open.
“It’s achingly irritating. Believe me, I’d rather talk about the role and the fantastic story and all the things J.J. [Abrams] has come up with. And then everyone would be as excited about the film as I am. But then of course I think I would be on a phone call coming from J.J.’s office …
Mystique is rare now, isn’t it? There aren’t that many enigmas in this modern world. Myself, I quite enjoyed seeing Super 8 and not knowing the story and then being mesmerized by it … [but] we live in the modern world, which is a place of oversaturation and now people, especially Trekkies, want to know everything before they witness it themselves. It’s strange to me. I think of it as a kid having a box of chocolates and not knowing what’s good for them. They eat three and they keep eating as they get sick … and the candy is gone.”
It sounds like while Ben would just rather get the mystique out there for the people, we just won’t know who he’s playing until the film releases.

Abrams.
These cutting edge technologies are being showcased in a never before-seen way and will enable users to automatically engage with a wealth of movie related materials by utilizing their real-life surroundings to auto-complete integrated missions by employing audio scan, geo-location recognition, and image recognition functionality powered by Qualcomm Vuforia. Another Super Bowl has come and gone, and another batch of overly hyped but in the end, disappointing Super Bowl commercials have aired. I’m sure everyone feels this way but I swear the commericials when I was a kid were more memorable. Maybe now we’re all too old and jaded to see the fun in a million dollar advertising campaign.
But out of all the commercials aired this year only one seemed to pander to those of us craving some nerdy nostalgia. It was MetLife‘s commericial starring just about every cartoon idol from our childhood. All coming together to celebrate, uhh, insurance on some grassy hill.
I don’t really get it either. And bringing Voltron and Scooby-Doo into the picture doesn’t get me excited about life insurance.

Leading up to this weekends big game (the Super Bowl if you’re not big on sports) it’s easy enough to find multiple simulations of the battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy using the popular EA Sports football video game Madden NFL.
I know, same old same old, right? Luckily that mad geniuses at 1Up have taken a novel approach by using a certain popular Bethesda video game to decide the winner of the biggest game in North America. Pitting Skyrim’s home-grown patriots, the Stormcloaks versus the games rather formidable giants in what is truly a battle for the ages.

Even Optimus Prime can’t convince me to spend more money on anything relating to Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise. Maybe the full trailer will during the Super Bowl, but only if it airs late in the game and I’m already sufficiently hammered.
