Sadly I had to skip Dragon Con this year as I was hosting a family get together over the Labor Day Holiday Weekend, but fear not, we’re still going to scour the Internet and find all the most fabulous Dragon Con happenings and bring them to you here. One such item was John Barrowman‘s entrance to his panel at Dragon Con. Suffice it to say that Barrowman knows how to make an entrance, one that will make you smile for the rest of the day, and what better way to wipe away that “I gotta go back to work after a 4 day weekend” feeling? Last week we brought you the story of the Moder family in Florida that received a HOA (Home Owners Association) letter about the big blue call box in their driveway. That’s right Doctor Who‘s TARDIS was minding its own business, trying to fix its Chameleon circuits while parked in the Moder’s driveway and the neighborhood HOA took offense. What’s a Doctor Who fan to do when your TARDIS doesn’t get the usual love its grown accustomed to receiving from fans around the world? Throw a huge Doctor Who viewing party! (more…)
This just might be the one problem in space and time itself the good Doctor can’t talk his way out of, or fix with the quick use of his sonic screwdriver. A couple in Florida built a replica TARDIS, because: (A.) They are huge fans of the show, and (B.) They wanted to use it in their wedding photos. Their themed wedding pictures went off without a hitch and the happy couple found a spot, temporary most likely, for the TARDIS in the driveway. Then the one power in the universe that even the Doctor wisely fears reared its ugly head, the dreaded Lexington Home Owners Association of Tampa Florida. (more…)
There have been a couple of Scotsmen who have played The Doctor before the latest actor Peter Capaldi, the Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy and Number Ten David Tennant were both from the northern part of the British Isles. But when the eighth series of Doctor Who bows next fall, Capaldi will get to do something that neither McCoy or Tennant were allowed to do during their tenure in the TARDIS, use their natural Scottish accent for the part. (more…)
It’s the meet-up that launched a thousand fan-fics and now it’s kinda, sorta real. What happens when the TARDIS lands in front of 221 B Baker Street? What happens when two of the fiercest minds of British TV come face to face? What will it be like when Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) and The Doctor (Matt Smith) meet and head off into the universe together? Some very enterprising video producers have put together what they think that would look like. And warning, this is very SFW, so none of your potential fan-fic fantasies come true. (more…)

ABOVE: I do not know why anyone in their right mind would want to have a Game of Thrones themed wedding, that’s asking for disaster and death but I suppose if you’re going to go for it, you might as well have this glorious cake! I really hope the insides of the cake are red velvet. [Neatorama]
