Spider-Man has once again swung into theaters with The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The sequel, released this weekend, has been met with polarizing fanfare (have you seen our review?). While fans are still chattering on what they liked and didn’t like (with more on the latter side), the movie has grossed $369 million worldwide already. Which means we’re practically assured, whether the haters like it or not, more films under the Sony Pictures banner. Sorry kids, Marvel ain’t getting the Spider-Man film rights back any time soon. The Marc Webb established cinematic Spider-Man universe, and its hodge podge of ideas and encumbered story telling, is here to stay. While some of us less favorable fans come to terms with that, we’ve compiled a collection new TASM content to throw in your face. Below you’ll find concept art, stills from the cut post credit scene, and some words from Marc Webb on what’s in store for the future. (more…)
Did you know that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was to feature Divergent star Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson? She had filmed a scene, but was later cut from the movie. Why exactly was she cut and how would she have fit into the movie? Director Marc Webb reveals all.
WARNING: Potential spoilers ahead.
With the expanding TASM universe, one has to wonder if we’ll ever see another character take up the mantle of Spider-Man on screen. If the rumor that Andrew Garfield won’t return for a fourth film is true, then we would definitely have to find another web-slinger to take his place, but could it be another character altogether? Perhaps, the character that took over for Peter Parker in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, Miles Morales? Click on through to see what the current Spider-Man had to say on the possibility of passing the torch. (more…)
Today we have some Amazing Spider-Man 2 news that actually has NOTHING to do with marketing spam (well, not directly)! I know, I can’t believe it either. But with the movie coming up in just a few weeks, I guess they feel comfortable enough with what they’ve put out there thus far? Anyways, the new information is regarding a couple of interesting things. The first is that, oddly enough, Amazing Spider-Man 2 will feature no TASM after-credits scene, but it will feature a clip from the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. The other, more sane-sounding bit of news is that some folks are finally talking about what we might see in Amazing Spider-Man 3. Scroll down for all the juicy info. (more…)
If anything, this latest picture of the Green Goblin from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will remind young movie fans that it’s really, really important you brush and floss your teeth everyday.
Yes, that’s Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, a.k.a. the Green Goblin. Unlike his predecessor, Willem Dafoe, DeHaan actually looks like a real goblin. In others words, he looks super creepy.
News has been dropping about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 like crazy lately, but surprisingly, not much has been said about the video game that’s to be released along with the movie. Luckily, for those of you who want to do some web-slinging of your own, the game is definitely on its way and it looks awesome! (more…)

References to Puma, Eddie Brock, Anne Weying, and The Enforcers have been dropped, and now we’ve got one more that could open the door to a whole bunch of other characters! (more…)
For those of you who haven’t yet taken notice, there’s been a Daily Bugle blog running to promote the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and it’s been teasing a group of classic villains from the comics showing up in the TASM universe. (more…)
Some, myself included, don’t consider The Amazing Spider-Man franchise all that necessary, especially when you consider there’s only five years between Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 and Sony‘s reboot. As for the new Peter Parker, Andrew Garfield, he was a welcomed addition to the franchise, but even he won’t be around forever. Just recently Garfield made some comments about being contracted through the third Amazing Spider-Man flick, but for nothing beyond that. (more…)
