You might as well call this “Marvel Week.”
First, we got our first look at the Royal Family for the upcoming ABC Inhumans TV show that will first hit theaters for the first two episodes (thanks to a sweet deal Marvel, ABC, and Imax) and then afterward appear nightly on ABC this fall. Then we got a teaser for the upcoming Runaways TV show, that will premiere on Hulu next year. Then, we got a trailer for the new Defenders TV show premiering this summer on Netflix. The sweet cherry on top, was the release of Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters this premiering today. We here at Nerdbastards LOVED it.
But Marvel’s not done yet!
Normally, this is the time when we would be getting most excited about the pending arrival of the next season of Game of Thrones. April was usually the launching point for the new season, but the arrival of winter on the series required that shooting dates to be pushed back, so summertime is the time for Game of Thrones now, and winter is very much hinted at in this latest teaser for the show’s penultimate season. In it, three of the series primary characters get ready for the final battle, glaring at the screen with the expectation that some bad stuff is about to go down. (more…)
Let’s face it; Deadpool was every raunchy, comic book-adoring individual’s dream. It had everything you could ask for from one of the most sarcastic actors in Hollywood perfecting the role to some of the most gruesome fight scenes to grace the screen and the superhero movie trend in a long time. However, as the screen rolled the credits and the fans trudged out of the theaters, the question already on their minds was simply, ‘what’s next?’ (more…)
If you grew up in the late 80s/early 90s, then chances are that DuckTales was a pretty big part of your life. If you miss those golden days, or wish you could share them with the child in your life, there’s good news because Disney is bringing DuckTales back next summer in an all-new series on Disney XD, and below you can watch the very teasing teaser. While Star Wars fans may have to wait until 2017 for the official sequel to The Force Awakens, we still have a lot to look forward to in 2016. This December will bring us Star Wars: Rogue One, a prequel to both The Force Awakens and the original trilogy. Ever wondered how those brave rebels first stole the plans to the Death Star? Who wouldn’t? If it wasn’t for them, the legendary events of the original trilogy would have never happened. This December will finally give us some insight as to how this intergalactic heist took place. With ten more months to wait, December 16th seems like quite a long wait. Fortunately, the first teaser is coming much sooner than we thought. (more…)
Wise beast-man of the star-ways, best co-pilot a galactic smuggler could have, professional wailer, for decades, Peter Mayhew has been the man behind the iconic hairy alien sidekick of Star Wars. Recently reprising his legendary role in The Force Awakens. Mayhew’s recent Twitter teases, however, have caused quite a stir, as he began to upload screen shots of his own original Star Wars script, simply titled Journal Of The Whills. What’s more interesting however, is the unedited original bit of text which reads… (more…)
The tales of Roald Dahl have thrilled kids for decades. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach are all classics in their own right, but is the power of Dahl ready to meet the overwhelming influence of the combined efforts of Walt Disney Studios, and director Steven Spielberg? For much of North America, this past weekend it was the end of daylight savings time, so could their be a better time to promote through puns the return of one of fantasy literature’s greatest heroines to the big screen? Of course not. Early Sunday morning, the Walt Disney Company released a teaser for one of there upcoming, big budget sequels (although probably not the one that fans are especially interested in seeing). No, it wasn’t the trailer for the next Captain America, it was the Alice in Wonderland sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass. Not much is revealed but as the pun infers, there is a fall… (more…)

While it won’t be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon series shows plenty of promise. Being shown on Disney XD, the “official” premiere date is Saturday, September 26, with back-to-back episodes, but the swell folks at Disney have chosen to give viewers a sneak peek by showing the first episode on Saturday, September 5. The show should serve well to hold fans over until the next big-screen iteration of the team graces our presence in 2017. Check out the teaser video here, with the plot synopsis for the first two episodes included below!
