This week has already turned into an epic week of epic trailers. Topping the list are the newest trailers for The Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. If you’re like me you’ve already watched them dozens of times but when a handy link is presented, you’ll find yourself watching them again. But with the week not over yet, one more trailer premiere awaits us, Prometheus.
All this week we’ve been teased with preview trailers for Ridley Scott‘s highly anticipated Alien prequel. They’ve been counting down to the trailer’s official premiere tomorrow by sharing snippets of footage and a bit of behind-the-scenes goodies. I know, who would have thought one day we’d have trailers for trailers.
Check out the last countdown video for Prometheus‘ trailer:
And here are the previous two, in case you missed ’em:
Whose pumped for the actual trailer? These teases are nice and all, but I think after a look at a full trailer I’ll be exceptionally more pumped. See you guys tomorrow for the real thing?
With so little new Who for the next year you’ve got to grab your fix where and when you can! The new season won’t return until fall of next year and all we have to tide us over is Doctor Who‘s Christmas episode, “The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe.” The BBC is billing this teaser as “jaw-dropping”, but the only thing that might cause your mouth to hang is how quickly Matt Smith can ramble. I thought David Tennant was a fast talker but Smith can spout those lines with super sonic speed!
Watch the Doctor’s call for help below.
On a scale of one to 11 how pumped you are for this year’s Christmas special? Last year’s will be hard to top, can they do it?
With only 3 and a half months to till the films official release date, the Disney hype machine is starting to warm up on Andrew Stanton‘s adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’John Carter. Star Taylor Kitsch (who plays the titular character) showed up in Times Square this morning and wouldn’t you know it, ran into ABC’s (own by Disney) Good Morning America. What are the chances?!? After the jump we have the full segment from GMA for you, the clip is about halfway through. I am sorry for inane morning show chatting you maybe exposed to, but the clip is worth it.
Oh, and as a heads up, the full trailer will premiere tonight during Jimmy Kimmel Live and hit the net shortly after, so when that’s up we’ll post it for you and dig a little deeper into this new journey back to mars. ( and you just said those last three words in Schwarzenegger’s voice)
It’s here! It’s here! In what might be one of the most anticipated trailers ever, the first official teaser for The Avengers debuts online. I don’t want to hold you up, go, quickly, below, click play!!
Whoa, right? Mind’s a little blown? I think that can be expected. We saw a little bit of everything in this teaser. We saw the amazing results of those explosions they were setting off in downtown Cleveland. We saw many of the scenes previewed in those promotional images. But most importantly, we saw the team together. Oh, and Nick Fury being a badass. How cool was that rocket launcher?
I do think it was a little Tony Stark heavy, but I’m really bothered. His exchanges with both Cap and Bruce Banner are priceless. Plus we got a first real glimpse of Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk! It was quick, but it was there. What did you guys think? Does this teaser have you completely amped for the film? Oh yea, we only have to wait until May 4th, 2012. Only seven months. We can do it, right? Right?!

This NerdBastard loves him some Game of Thrones. Don’t care what the medium, video, books, music. it’s all good. Even this pathetically short teaser just wets the whistle of desire. So now the new catch phrase is out for season two. Don’t worry spoiler haters, won’t let that out of the bag until you get a chance to watch the video. This NerdBastard was kinda hoping the one below would catch on.
“Fall is coming”
The voice in the teaser is that of Game of Thrones character Stannis Baratheon (Brian O’Byrne).
Forget the things in the night, what about that blond horror sitting over there on the throne of swords? That little nightmare is gonna cause some serious havoc in season two.
The second season of The Walking Dead is creeping closer!! Expect the next weeks to be full of sneak peaks, teaser trailers, new images, basically anything AMC shares to wet out appetites for the return of their hit zombie survival drama.
Today is no different, feast your eyes on a new teaser.
Looks like it’s time to starting arming and training everyone, whoo hoo! This aspect was one of my favorite of the comics, survival. And the key to their survival is going to knowing how to fire a gun. We’re also going to see Laurie become the sharpshootin’ badass we comics fan love her as, definitely looking forward to that.
No real plot direction revealed, all we know is they’re making their way to Herschel’s farm sometime this season. The Walking Dead returns October 16th at 9pm, whose ready!?
Aw, man, the new season of The Walking Dead is almost here! Can you feel the undead excitement? We’ve suffered for a whole year, but come October 16th we finally find out where the survivors go after the CDC. And, ooooh! Is that Herschel’d farm I spy in the above poster? I think it is!
So, The Walking Dead has had it’s ups and downs during this year they’ve been off the air. Frank Darabont is gone, but we’ve been promised he’s left his creative mark all over the first half of the second season. We’ve also been promised by new showrunner, Glen Mazzaro, he won’t fuck it up. We’ll just have to see how this season goes. Again, it’ll be split into two parts with six episodes beginning in October and another six following in February.
Below, watch a new little teaser, and a little lower, a nice, full version of the new teaser poster.
It looks like this season will be discussing Rick’s place as a leader, father, husband; y’know all the juicy drama the comic book already offered hopefully without distractions like random racist character and random abusive husband character. Or, random trip to the CDC to explain how people become zombies even though this tidbit was kept shrouded in secrecy for much of the book, really playing up the drama of killing a recenlty turned loved one. This became an especially heated topic at, oh where? Herschel’s farm. I don’t know, sometimes you wonder about the changes made when a story is adapted into another medium.
Anyway, The Walking Dead returns with a two hour premiere in a little over four weeks, who else it effin’ pumped!?
AMC has released these uber-quick teasers for the upcoming second season of The Walking Dead. In fact, these are so short I wonder why even bother? Oh, because your fanbase is completely rabid for any new bits of footage. Even with all the behind-the-scenes drama, we just want to know where our pack of survivors goes next.
This first one is kind of funny, using the tagline, “Makes True Blood look like iCarly!” Otherwise, it’s mostly footage you’ve seen and just a taste of zombie goodness, a fix until the series returns October 16th.
The full teaser trailer of the Avengers that was shown in theaters after the credits for Captain America hasn’t yet been released. What we do have, however, is a 10 second teaser of the teaser. And, y’know, the last 30 seconds of Captain America, which basically spoils the whole thing but you all know what the happs are anyway, right? RIGHT?
Check out the first 10 seconds of the Avengers trailer below. If you don’t want to be spoiled for Captain America, skip to 0:36 and you’re in the clear.
Obviously, there’s more to see in the second half of the trailer. Fuckin’ cocktease. (Yes, appreciate the irony of me saying that.)
The Avengers will be released in May 2012, according to IMDB, and is being directed by The Whedon Man. Are you guys looking forward to it?
You know it’s Comic-Con week, don’t you? Can’t you just smell it in the air? Well, not literally, ’cause if you really could smell it you’d probably gag from the overwhelming body odor, but what I’m trying to say is, it’s Comic-Con week and finally we get a peak at those movies we’ve been anxiously anticipating for months. (Psst, keep yourself glued to Nerd Bastards for San Diego Comic-Con coverage!)
Today, it’s our first look at Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-manstarring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Denis Leary. I’m still scratching my head as to why it was necessary to reboot the Spider-man franchise so quickly. Granted, everyone agrees what was shaping into a fantastic series ended on really shitty note. Spider-man 3 was fuckin’ awful. But even so, there’s only five years between these films, Toby Maguire’s awkward Peter Parker is still fresh in fan’s minds. Are we ready to relive the origin of everyone’s favorite, wise-cracking web-slinger?
First, watch the trailer.
Now let me ask you, are you freakin’ excited to relive the origin of everyone’s favorite, wise-cracking web-slinger? Yes should be your answer, dammit, an astounding yes! I’ll admit I’m completely enamored by the fancy, spider-parkour vision. I know it’s gimmicky and clearly made to showcase the 3D, but I don’t care, it looks sweet. Everything about this flick looks edgy, and at times a little on the grittier side. I’m hoping they haven’t lost the fun and humor of Spider-man, but this is only a teaser and I’m guessing they wanted something intense and thrilling for our first look.
What do you guys think? Completely stoked for The Amazing Spider-man or are you going to go home and curl up with Spider-man 2 and big tub of icecream?
