Since defining themselves as not only a platform for great programming but also a formidable creator, Netflix has found space for its output in almost every genre of television, film and various other forms of broadcast specials. Now dropping the new trailer for its latest venture, Ultimate Beastmaster, it has broached the territory of the obstacle and assault course physical challenge shows. While it might sound niche, there are plenty of these getting great ratings on channels around the world, from the original Japanese Sasuke – or Ninja Warrior in the English speaking countries it has reached – to the downright silly British Total Wipeout. Fans and quite a few actors themselves have been pitching who they think should play Luke Cage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and later the Netflix Luke Cage series with Idris Elba, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Terry CrewsMichael Jai White, and The Walking Dead‘s Chad Coleman. Elba recently, last night really, did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit and was asked once again about playing Luke Cage. What he had to say might disappoint many of you. (more…)

Terry Crews is nothing if not persistent. He’s been throwing his hat into the Luke Cage ring for a while now. There was a lot of speculation about a Luke Cage movie when Marvel was just setting up its Cinematic Universe. Now that Marvel has committed to a Luke Cage series on Netflix, many of those same actors that expressed a desire to wrap chains around their waist and knock criminal heads as one of Marvel’s greatest black superheros are vying for attention from the Marvel casting crew. Today has been heavy with TV spots.  Instead of rifling off of a bunch of short posts, we thought it would be much more reader friendly to compile them into a compendium. OK, I admit it. We were just too goddamn lazy. Anyhow, scroll on down to see some new spots for Expendable 2, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises.

Lionsgate has released a third TV spot for The Expendables 2Much like the first two spots, you can expect explosions and geriatric  acting.

In the August 17 release, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), Toll Road ()Randy Couture and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job.

Here it is, the trailer for Expendables II. This NerdBastard has to say that it is kind of refreshing to have a movie that promises simple things and delivers.

You want old action stars, you gott’um.

The Expendables II have all the bells and wistles that any 80’s action movie could want. One liners, crazy explosions, silent guys that shoot shit, inside jokes galore, The Expendables II has it.

But now we’ve got an actual trailer, with actual footage showing some of what happens when you put Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Liam Hemsworth, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the same movie.

Sylvester Stallone and his muscle-throbbing, old-man action-star crew is back in the testosterone filled sausage-fest known as The Expendables 2. The film, directed by Simon West and written by Sylvester StalloneDavid AgostoKen Kaufman and Richard Wenk (apparently it takes four guys to decide what blows up, who lives who dies…etc), is set for a August 17th, 2012 release. Lionsgate has released a new teaser trailer. Instead of showing off any actual action, it’s  more like a roll call of who’s who in the action world. You know… in case you forgot Van Damme, Norris, Stallone, Arnold, Lundgreen, Willis… are in a single movie. You’re gonna have to stock up on HGH come time of release, because there is just too much macho for you’re puny ass to witness.

The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal…

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Lee Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job. The task looks like an easy paycheck for Barney and his band of old-school mercenaries. But when things go wrong and one of their own is viciously killed, the Expendables are compelled to seek revenge in hostile territory where the odds are stacked against them. Hell-bent on payback, the crew cuts a swath of destruction through opposing forces, wreaking havoc and shutting down an unexpected threat in the nick of time – six pounds of weapons-grade plutonium; enough to change the balance of power in the world. But that’s nothing compared to the justice they serve against the villainous adversary who savagely murdered their brother.

That is done the Expendables way….

The Expendables 2 will be released in theaters everywhere August 17th, 2012.
