Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the first trailer for the 4th Avengers movie. Some expected it to drop on Black Friday and were disappointed when there was no sign of the trailer. Now that the trailer is here, people can’t stop talking about it. The trailer brings back people fans missed out on in the last movie in surprising ways and reveals what fans are calling the biggest loss from Infinity War. What could make fans sadder than losing Spider-Man? NerdBastards breaks down the trailer and gives fans not privy to comic book history some clues as to what’s going on the trailer for Avengers: Endgame.
Ant-Man and the Wasp premiered this weekend to excited fans. While not as gut-wrenching as Avengers: Infinity War, the film had a humor and heart to it that Marvel lovers might need right about now.
Even more importantly, though, it now marks us being only one film away from Avengers 4.
In wait of the heart-stopping, intense film, let’s look at some of the Ant-Man facts that might mean intriguing things for the future of the MCU. (more…)
Principal photography has begun on Avengers: Infinity War and its follow-up, the untitled Avengers 4. We know that it will feature a great many of the characters who have appeared in Marvel Studios so far, and we know that the big bad will be Thanos played by Josh Brolin. We know that Thanos has been, and will continue, to chase Infinity Gems, but why? What’s the end game Thanos has in mind for the very powerful stones that he will combine into the Infinity Gauntlet? Well, without going into details, let’s just say that Thanos doesn’t like the looks of the universe he’s getting from his floaty chair… (more…)
Coming soon, the beginning of production on Avengers: Infinity War and its counterpart, the yet unnamed Avengers 4. It will be an arduous nine month shoot, and it will feature about a million different characters introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. A logistical nightmare to be sure, but Joe and Anthony Russo have already proven that they are up to the task thanks to this past summer’s Captain America: Civil War, and now we play the waiting game to learn more about the production. The following image is the first from behind the scenes of the next Avengers, and while it doesn’t reveal much, it does reveal that the film’s villain is already hard at work planning our heroes’ doom. Do you remember the Infinity Stones? Shiny rocks, vast amounts of powers, one of them is stuck to the head of Vision in the MCU? They were central to the plot of Captain America: First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World, and of course, the first Guardians of the Galaxy, and have more or less had a presence in every Marvel movie to date post Iron Man 2, but haven’t really been seen much lately. They went completely unmentioned in Ant-Man, and were barely a footnote in Captain America: Civil War. They’re a pretty central plot device to the entire world of Marvel, and yet they don’t seem to be the headline ‘artifact of doom’ right now. It might have fans wondering whether they’ll make an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at all. Well, director James Gunn once again has the answers. (more…)
‘Captain America: Civil War‘ may still be in theaters, but fans are already looking forward to what will likely be the largest gathering of heroes, villains, and characters from Marvel Comics all coming to a head in a war on a grander scale… ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’
Though it doesn’t arrive in theaters until May 4, 2018, and the fact that there are still 5 Marvel movies that will debut prior (Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, and Black Panther), that is only getting comic book readers/collectors and moviegoers even more excited. One person who finds “Avengers 3” simply brilliant is one of its stars, actor Josh Brolin. (more…)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is generating all kinds of hype, enjoyment and revenue on a consistent basis. Captain America: Civil War was an outstanding take on a popular story arc from Marvel’s Avengers. As well as being a brilliant stand alone movie, it created so much excitement for upcoming films like Spiderman: Homecoming and Black Panther. One of the most anticipated elements of the MCU is the Avengers: Infinity War films and some huge news has been broken today about Infinity War Part One & Two. It turns out we won’t be watching Infinity War Part One & Two at all… Well, kind of.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a number of recurring characters who have a huge impact on each film they appear in. Even if those characters appear for a short amount of time, they change the film for the audience in one way or another. A perfect example of this is Anthony Mackie’s Falcon in Ant-Man. If Ant-Man felt at all disjointed from the rest of the MCU the appearance of Falcon brought their worlds together. There is one character however, who has made more than one appearance without affecting the proceedings too much… Thanos (Josh Brolin.) He has made a couple of appearances with very little screen time but Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the writers of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Parts I & II are about to change that. Dreamt up by comic book Zeus Jim Starlin, with his first appearance on 1973’s issue of Ironman #55, the Mad Titan Thanos has become a staple among cosmic adversaries. Already, he has (briefly) taken over the entirety of Existence, rewritten the Marvel Multiverse in an ill-fated spin-off and has struggled with his embarrassing crush over Death. His big movie breakout in the Avengers series has been already hyped to no end, but what are the future plans for the character, regarding the Marvel Movie Universe?
Thankfully, Josh Brolin has recently weighed in on the character (during a press release for his upcoming film Hail Caesar!) and hinted at a few of the studio’s future plans…
Ever since Marvel announced its release slate for the next five-years, everyone presumed it would eventually lead up to an Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy crossover. James Gunn has been asked about this numerous times as of late, especially while he has been on the promotional circuit pushing the Blu-ray and dvd release of his film. In interviews, Gunn always comes across as being very protective of the world and characters he has created in Guardians Of The Galaxy, so when there are ever any questions about a crossword within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he always seems pretty despondent about the whole concept of the Avengers and the Guardians teaming up. However, given that they are the Guardians of the Galaxy; it would make more sense to give Gunn more time for the fans to explore his characters and their motives in more detail, and to explore the Galaxy that they are protecting. Therefore, it’s understandable at this point in time that Gunn‘s mindset is nowhere near, even contemplating how the crossover is going to come about at this point in time. After all, he has only just recently started work on the Guardians of the Galaxy 2. (more…)
