Thor: Ragnarok

Promising a departure from the previous Thor films, Thor: Ragnarok promises to be a “buddy cop” action movie with heart and humor. We’ve already seen the first trailer and thanks to Led Zepplin, was an incredibly awesome. You couldn’t help but scream out “Yes” along with Thor Odinson as he ran into The Hulk in his full-on “Planet Hulk” attire.  The third Thor film is already off to a good start.

This being Comic-Con, and Thor: Ragnarok being on everyone’s radar, it makes perfect sense that the official trailer (the first one was a teaser trailer after all) today at Marvel’s Hall H panel. Boy did they not disappoint! (more…)

Happy D23 Day! Disney‘s prime time event to promote all things Disney that happens every other year at Disney HQ in California. This is a major event because it seems like half of everything we cover here on Nerd Bastards is a Disney-owned property, Star Wars and Marvel being the two primary examples. So, it’s Disney’s weekend to make some noise, how do we kick things off? How about a display of the showroom floor at D23, where fans can seen in plain sight a display of costumes and other things from Marvel’s upcoming cinematic offerings like Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther. Holding court in the middle though, is our old friend Thanos, the mad Titan and main villain in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

Waititi recently answered that question. (more…)

When we last left Loki, the God of Mischief, he was sitting atop the Throne of Asgard pretending to be his adapted father Odin and watching his brother walk away and return to Earth and the Avengers. But then what? We imagine some of that will be addressed in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, the third chapter in the saga of the God of Thunder, played by Chris Hemsworth, and his highly dysfunctional family. According to Tom Hiddleston, the man that’s played Loki very successfully in three previous Marvel movies, his character’s not at all over past disagreements with his brother, but he’s willing to be brotherly enough to stop an imminent threat.  (more…)

This is the first triple-hitter year for Marvel Studios. In May, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 will arrive, followed in July by Spider-Man: Homecoming and then Thor: Ragnarok in the fall. So far, we’ve gotten a pretty good look at GOTG2, we’ve gotten some initial glimpses at Spider-Man, but unless you were at San Diego Comic Con, the most of Ragnarok you’ve probably seen is either that “documentary” about Thor’s downtime, or the post-credits scene from Doctor Strange. Well, look for no trailer here, that will be in another couple of months, but below there’s some art you’ll definitely want to see. (more…)
