Tonight, 20th Century Fox did something that only hours before seemed impossible: they presented footage that excited the audience in attendance more than the WB/DC footage shown earlier that day. Sure, the new Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials looks great, as does the James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliff starrer, Victor Frankenstein. However, there were three properties that everyone came to see and Fox delivered the goods with X-Men: Apocalypse, Fantastic Four, and the long-awaited Deadpool. One of these is definitely not like the others and it was this footage that truly had the crowd screaming. So, sit down, grab a fucking chimichanga, and get ready to read about what is sure to be the first hard R-Rated superhero blockbuster ever made. You know him, you love him, he loved you (and you have the stains to prove it), ladies and gentlemen, the Merc With a Mouth was in full glory on the Hall H stage to present footage from Deadpool. As the Deadpool production continues to film on the Vancouver Georgia Street Viaduct, there’s new video and stills of Ryan Reynolds getting his Deadpool on. Check out the gallery and on set videos below. (more…)
We’ve known that Game of Thrones Ed Skrein had been cast for a role opposite Ryan Reynolds in Tim Miller‘s Deadpool, but until earlier today, we didn’t really know what role that might be. Thanks to Skrein’s Tweet, Now we know. (more…)
We showed you the notice residents near the Georgia Street Viaduct, or bridge for those of us south of the Canadian border, received last week concerning the scheduled Deadpool filming. Filming kicked off as scheduled at that location today and we’ve got some on set pictures from fans and media. What’s truly surprising is that those pictures paint us a very familiar scene. (more…)
Welcome to the future. On this, the very first podcast of 2015, Cyborg Jeremy and Clone Jason sit in their hoverchairs (or as some call them, jazzy scooters) to talk about everything that has happened in the pop culture trendsphere.
THIS WEEK ON THE SHOW (sorry, I don’t know why I yelled that…) (more…)
In the latter part of 2014, it was announced that everyone’s favorite jive talking, and certifiably insane “Merc with the Mouth”, aka Deadpool, would be getting is very own live-action movie. Slated for release in 2016 the production is moving forward with the comedic action extravaganza, and casting is now taking shape.
We know Ryan Reynolds will star as the red suited sword-smith who has a penchant for eating chimichangas, but who else will be rounding out the cast? (more…)
These are precarious times for the Marvel Movie empire. Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel Studios boldest venture yet in live-action filmmaking arrives in theaters in just a few weeks. Then, this fall, the first in what hopefully will be a long-term collaboration between Marvel and its parent Disney to create animated Marvel films, will open in a cinema near you, Big Hero 6. New details have been revealed about who’s playing who in the film, and along with that, there’s a new trailer for the flick that shows a lot of humor and hints at some very big action. To say nothing else, it looks fantastic! (more…)
Like it or not there’s another Micheal Bay Transformers movie in the production pipeline. Principal photography on the fourth Transformers film is set to start this Thursday. Paramount has released a couple of new images of two new Autobots, don’t get to excited though, it’s just their robots in disguise look.
First up is the 1,200-horsepower Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse worth more than a whopping $2.4 million! The character name is most likely Drift.
I guessing this beauty will have its own computerized stunt double as well as on set security. A much cheaper car was stolen off the Captain America set after all, and don’t forget the last Transformers movie had police cars crashing the set and damaging Bumblebee.
The second is a special race-inspired C7 Corvette Stingray, based on Chevrolet’s upcoming 2014 production car. Slingshot is thought to be the character name. You know Chevy is going to cross market the heck out of this movie and new car.
Those are two sweet looking cars, and just what we’ve come to expect from Bay’s Transformers franchise. The only question left is, “What horribly racist and demeaning accents will the two new characters use?”
Lastly, Bay has given the world its first look at the updated look of one Optimus Prime in truck form, via his own website, accompanied by the following description: “The completely upgraded, custom-built Optimus Prime from Western Star (a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America).” Welcome to Pimp My Transformer on MTV.
In related news, The Wrap is reporting that TJ Miller (Pictured above) has been cast in the film as the blue-collared comic relief mechanic and friend to Mark Wahlberg’s character, I’m sure he’ll be saying , “Hi to his mother.” for him.
