You’ve probably heard that a lot of the films released over the weekend tanked big time at the box office. Frank Miller‘s Sin City followup being the costliest of the weekend opening floppers. Those box office results are interesting, but what really ices my cupcake, marshmallow’s my Hot Chocolate, and Baby Powders my tushie is that James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy is back in the number one spot! Toys today are the most spoilery thing out there. Even the tightest movie security is often foiled by those six inches of molded plastic with Kung-Fu grips. The lastest example comes from producer Michael Bay’s reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Playmate released the images below giving us the first clear look at Splinter. (more…)
The one burning question I wanted answered last week when the news broke that Johnny Knoxville and Tony Schaloub would be taking over as the voices of Leonardo and Splinter in Michael Bay‘s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot was, “Did the actors, Pete Plozek and Danny Woodburn, know they would only be doing the physical performance?” Now we know. Scroll down to check out the treatment he’s been given. (more…)
The tumultuous professional relationship between Michael Bay and Megan Fox has been a favorite salacious forum topic on the Internet. When the news broke that Fox was cast to play April O’Neil in Bay’s reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, heads exploded online.
The last couple of days rumors about Fox also appearing in Bay’s Transformers 4 must have those exploding heads imploding. Was the speculation that Fox and Bay were ready to work together as actress and director on the same set correct?
Bay quickly stepped up to the Twitter microphone and set the record straight.
“No. Because it’s a totally different story. It’s with Mark Wahlberg and his daughter.
It’s the same. You have the three movies, but there’s a reason why there’s a new cast. And it’s explained very clearly when you see it, and it’s going to feel natural. So it’s not like we’re starting over or anything like that.”
Well, that settles that. On another interesting note, Bay also let out that Transformers 4 is not a reboot, just another story in the same franchise.
What do you think, or do you even care?
The other day we got a look at the actors playing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles all suited up in motion capture suits on set. Today there’s a video to go along with it. The TMNT foursome has been captured by Shredder’s Foot Clan, who are frog marching (I tried Turtle marching, but it just doesn’t have that same zing as Frog) them somewhere, most likely to face Shredder.
Jonathan Liebesman is directing the film, based on the comic book characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. Megan Fox stars as April O’Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter, and William Fightner, although not officially announced, is expected to play Shredder.
TMNT hits theater screens June 6th, 2014.
