FLASH VS. ARROW

It’s coming down to crunch time for both of the CW‘s flagship superhero series, Arrow and The Flash. Both shows are two-thirds over for the season, and major plot points have been revealed as the pieces have started to be arranged for what’s sure to be seminal, cataclysmic season finales. There’s the rub, obviously the shows want to keep their secrets close, but they both shoot outside on the occasionally, but rarely, mean streets of Vancouver, where sharp-eyed shutter bugs can catch site of superhero doings in progress if they’re quick enough, and/or lucky enough. Making the rounds on the internet this morning is what might be a look at the epic fight that will cap The Flash’s first season, and this should go without saying, but spoilers are ahead. (more…)

‘Flash’ and ‘Arrow’ Secrets Revealed at PaleyFest

Arrow-Flash

The CW’s two flagship superhero series return this week with all new episodes, and both The Flash and Arrow have a great many mysteries to unravel for fans before the season’s through. On The Flash, we know that there’s a showdown coming with “the Man in Yellow,” who is much closer than anyone else on Team Flash realizes. As for Arrow, there’s Ra’s al Ghul’s offer to Oliver to take over as leader of the League of Assassins, an offer that Oliver likely can’t refuse. So where do we go from here? What secrets are about to be revealed? Some, if not all, was discussed at PaleyFest this past weekend. Spoilers follow obviously. (more…)

speed-force

If you’re a fan of this site, then you’ve probably heard of the Force, but how about the Speed Force? You may not be so steeped into the comic lore of the original Flash books to know anything about the Speed Force, so you might not have gotten too excited when it was name dropped on last night’s episode of The CW‘s The Flash. That’s okay because executive producer Andrew Kreisberg is going to explain it to us. Out of what have looked like, on the surface, as another “freak of the week” episode, we were instead given a fairly big piece of Flash mythology and it was just dropped in a manner akin to the way we learned what Cisco wore to work on his first day at S.T.A.R. Labs. Spoilers ahead obviously. (more…)

reverse_flash

The Flash returns tonight (fiiiiiiiinally) on the CW, and while the new episode called “Return of the Rogues” refers specifically to Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), the rogue that really has fans curious is The Man in the Yellow Suit, AKA: Reverse-Flash. Who is he? Why did he – apparently – go back in time to kill Barry Allen’s mom and frame his dad for it? Both good questions, and ones that I think will be answered to some degree by the end of the first season. Every fan has their theory, but now The Flash himself, actor Grant Gustin, says to throw those theories out the window because even he was surprised by what’s coming with this season’s end. (more…)

After the first trailer for the CW‘s Arrow spin-off show The Flash just about broke the Internet last month, fans have been chomping at the bit to find out more about the show. We can expect the CW marketing machine to go into overdrive soon, but they’ve decided to start slowly with a clip featuring the scientific team at S.T.A.R. Labs (Scientific and Technological Advanced Research) and a plot synopsis for the series pilot. (more…)
