He voiced two of the most iconic characters in British Science Fiction and they were both on the same show. Roy Skelton may not be a name many of us have heard across the pond, but we certainly know his voice and his now iconic phrases from Doctor Who. A particularly small set of phrases repeated over and over again.
The man who was the voice to one of the Doctor’s greatest foes, the Daleks, has passed away at the the age of 79 the BBC has reported. Not only did this brilliant man voice the Daleks from 1967 to 1988 but Skelton also voiced the Cybermen and the Krotons.
It’s a terrible loss for the science fiction community with the passing of one of it’s greats, the man raised a generation to fear garbage cans with plungers attached to them. Hopefully Jesus is up there sharing a pint with this gentleman, asking him if being the best got all kinds of nerd tail. Safe Journey Roy.
