Wasp

Ant-Man and the Wasp premiered this weekend to excited fans. While not as gut-wrenching as Avengers: Infinity War, the film had a humor and heart to it that Marvel lovers might need right about now.

Even more importantly, though, it now marks us being only one film away from Avengers 4.

In wait of the heart-stopping, intense film, let’s look at some of the Ant-Man facts that might mean intriguing things for the future of the MCU.  (more…)

Ant Man’s paltry opening weekend box office numbers of $58M, which comes at the lower end of the scale we’ve come to expect from Marvel over the last few years ex. Thor($65.7M) and Captain America: The First Avenger ($65.1M), it still managed to leave fans abuzz in conversation due to the film’s post-credits scene. This along with some confirmation straight from Kevin Feige has us all piecing together what else we can expect from Marvel in Phase 3 of their cinematic adventures. (Spoilers Ahead)

Avengers-Animatic
Joss Whedon has mentioned it before, but we finally have visual confirmation that early animatics and scripts for The Avengers did in fact feature the female superhero, Wasp. Among other major changes from the animatics, it seems Wasp was cut completely from the film, and only seemed to have a minor part as it was, along with a more comic-like costume for Hawkeye, and the fact that Loki was sent the “wrong army.”

In addition to the early write up of the “Avenger Assemble” scene, there are also a few other animatics; one demonstrating a different introduction of Iron Man, that used some of the same scenes as the Iron ManThor fight scene (the tree spot, in particular), another putting Tony in the opening “tunnel collapse” scene, and the last is a slightly altered version of the scene between Stark and Loki in Stark Tower.

These scenes are definitely Iron Man centric, so I understand why they were cut from the final script, but these are fun watches nonetheless. It’s clear that the best of each clip made it into the movie, but it’s always fun to wonder how the movie would have turned out, had they actually included these scenes in the movie. Do you see anything that you wish would have been used in the final film?

ABOVE: What a kick ass Wasp cosplay! I’m a little sad we won’t see Wasp in The Avengers. Well, actually, Wasp can pretty annoying but when you’re looking for women on The Avengers you’re definitely limited. Which is probably why they went with Black Widow. And she’s just a party a minute! Ok. Not really. She’s hot but boring. What is with these lame Marvel chicks!? Still, excellent photography by jaytablante and excellent  cosplay from  Riki LeCotey. Marvel really wants your dog to be a fan. Yesterday we shared their line of doggie apparel from new partner, Fetch. Today it’s dog toys! Admit it, you kind of want that Hulk fist just so you can get pictures of your dog being punch by Hulk then chewing his arm off. (Nerd Approved)
