zack snyder

There’s been a lot of rumours about the status of Justice League recently, but in a development no one was expecting, it’s been announced this evening that director Zack Snyder is leaving the production in a critical time during its post-production to deal with a family tragedy. As Snyder and his wife and co-producer Deborah Snyder deal with their grief, the Justice League has been left in the capable hands of a filmmaker that knows something about bringing superhero teams to the big screen, The Avengers writer/director Joss Whedon(more…)

New Justice League Movie Team PhotoThe big DC Films team-up movie, Justice League, is set to drop a whole new trailer this upcoming Saturday (March 25,) so of course that means a galactic threat level hype machine is currently laying waste to social media across the globe that would leave Despero envious. From Twitter, to YouTube, to Facebook and beyond, Warner Bros. social media interns have been enduring the first 3 cords of The White Stripes ‘Icky Thump’ on repeat as each member of the team has been getting their own 20 second teaser and character poster.

Aquaman was up first, shortly followed by a few other teammates: (more…)

There’s a new Justice League teaser making the Internet rounds after it’s premiere on the Today Show this morning. The teaser does feature a couple new shots for fans and the promise of a new trailer this Saturday. What is interesting is this teaser seems to focus on Jason Momoa as Aquaman which just pushed back its October 2018 release date to December of the same year. Check out the new teaser below. Other than last years Comic-Con teaser/sizzle reel and a couple of officially released images, things have been kind of quiet on the forthcoming big screen debut of The Justice League. With the film knuckle deep in post-production, director Zack Snyder has released one of his patented “we making a movie” behind the scenes stills of someone hard at work color processing a scene. Of course that scene shows off Batman mid being all Batman-y. Classic Zack, amiright?  (more…)

The 2016 Razzies have been announced and Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has collected 8 nominations and was just beat out by Zoolander 2‘s 9 nominations for the year’s worst film. Snyder, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Jesse Eisenberg all garnered individual nominations with the ladies of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Amy Adams and Gal Gadot, being the only ones from the film that came away without a nomination. Check out the entire nomination list below. (more…)

batfleck

Remember back in 2013 when they cast Ben Affleck as Batman in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and we we all like, “That’s stupid”? (Well, not us per se, as in Nerd Bastards as an editorial policy, but some of us personally, and a lot of our readers, thought that.) Who would have guess that the so-called “Bat-fleck” was the part we’d be eager to see more of? We know that Warner Bros. has been eager to get a solo Bat-adventure back to the big screen, and that they were seemingly fast-tracking it among the bevy of other pending DC films, but we would never have guessed that The Batman was coming *this* fast.  (more…)

After just a little under six months of filming, principal photography on the Justice League movie recently completed and to commemorate the committing DC Comics premier super team to celluloid, director Zack Snyder tweeted out a  sizzle reel. Clocking in at 90 seconds, the video showcases a bunch of behind the scenes shots and a few glimpses of new footage, all accompanied by the requisite Zack Snyder crunchy guitar riff because the 90s only end if you let it.

Heck, we even get a little taste of a certain man who is super. (more…)

Now that Batman V Superman has been out of the theaters for a while and available on home release, the time for people warring about it online has all but come to pass. Fans have now set their sights on Justice League, which debuted a fantastically well-received trailer at San Diego Comic-Con. The teaser showed what appears to be a fun superhero team-up film in style of The Avengers, and managed to do the impossible – make Aquaman a total bad-ass. Fans are also giddy over the trailer for Wonder Woman which also premiered at SDCC, which looks like a feminist cross-fitter’s wet dream. Warner Bros/DC really knocked it out of the park at Comic Con and has seemingly won over every fan who ever said anything bad about Batman V Superman. But… about that. The veritable shit storm of negative reviews from critics still linger like stink on a monkey. Why, though… why are people still arguing online about how bad the movie was/is?

There’s plenty of reviews out there that explain in detail the lack of story, characterizations,  and absurd motivations (I, for one, still have no idea why the deuce Lex Luthor had it in for Superman) but it actually all comes down to one fundamental flaw – Forced Moments. What does that mean? Well, because hating on BvS never gets old, watch this new video essay from Youtuber Nerdwriter1 as he attempts to explain what the fundamental flaw is in Zack Snyder‘s comic book sequel. (more…)
