Each and every week we scour the Internet for nothing but the best in nerdy art. We leave no digital stone unturned, we poke and prod every nook and cranny of the Interwebz. Why? Because we love you, and we love to bring you weekly feed of nerd art. On with the dump!
He’s a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over a metal endoskeleton -and now that the Empire has brought him back with the powers of a Sith Lord we are so screwed everyone. Artist Robert Shane originally only intended to draw the Cyberdyne System model 101, but after letting the hate flow put together a “force” to be reckoned with. [Deviant Art]

Attention television junkies, Fox is out win or break your heart, depending, of course, on your favorite shows. While their official schedule announcement won’t come until Monday, we’re already hearing what shows made it and what was chopped from their new lineup.
Firstly, Fringe has been renewed, proving it must be a strong show for surviving the deadly Friday night slot. But other Fox shows are not fairing as well. Word is Chicago Code, Human Target, Lie to Me, Breaking In, and Traffic Light are all getting the axe. So, sorry fans of those shows, there just weren’t enough of you. Don’t worry though, you’ll join a proud legion of fans of shows cancelled prematurely by Fox. It’s a pretty hardcore group.
While Fox is cleaning out their under-performing programs they are bringing in new shows; The New Girl starring Zooey Deschanel as a lovelorn teacher and I Hate My Teenage Daughter with Jaime Pressly. They’ve also ordered a Bones spin-off, Finder.
Also on order is a season of Alcatraz, the new J.J. Abrams produced series, which should be great news for all of you mourning Lost but still hooked on Fringe. The series will star Sam Neill and Jorge Garcia and it involves time-travel, cool so far. Alcatraz follows prisoners who in the 1960s disappeared then reappeared today. Which reads simple enough but knowing it comes from Abrams, expect confusion and suspense galore. Sarah Jones is also appearing as an FBI agent tracking down the missing convicts and trying to discover how they traveled through time.
But, the real bummer news is it seems Locke & Key, the show based on Joe Hill‘s graphic novel will not be picked up. Hopefully this show still has chance by being shopped around to other networks, maybe Syfy? Locke & Key is about a family moving into a haunted house so it sounds right up SyFy’s alley, but maybe another cable channel could give the show life.
Whew! There it is, a lot of changes coming to Fox. Hopefully some of these new shows will survive for more than a year. What sounds most exciting to you? I’m definitely intrigued by Alcatraz, anything involving The Rock is fascinating. And no, I’m not talking about Dwayne Johnson, puh-lease. But I am really sad to hear Locke & Key won’t be happening, at least not for a while. Sound off in the comments about what you think about Fox’s changes.
Finally a red band trailer that really delivers. The last red band trailer I looked at for Paul made me wonder why the powers that be even bothered making one. Your Highness at least brought it with the Nymph “Booby trap” gag. I was sure I would only be seeing Your Highness for the scene shot below.
It seems that Natalie is ready to have some fun, even if it’s at her expense. I am hoping that we have seen most of the masturbation gags already and there are more inside fantasy story jokes to be had. I love a good balls or masturbation joke as the next 12 year old but as demonstrated by Transformers II there is a limit.
The film has a “Want to see” of 86 rating over at Rotten Tomatoes today, the movie opens April 8th starring Danny McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman, and Zooey Deschanel.
Check out the red band trailer for Your Highness below, NSFW because of booby traps and such.
So how many guys have dreamed of having a secretary that looked like Zooey Deschanel? Well wait to longer friends, Deschanel might be playing Betty Brant secretary to J. Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle, in Marc Webb’s 3D Reboot of Spider-Man! Showbiz Spy tells us,
“Betty was a minor character in the previous Spidey movies but Marc has big plans for her. He wants a strong performer to carry the role and Zooey fits the bill perfectly. The role is hers if she wants it.”
If Deschanel takes the role the twosome of Webb and Deschanel would be reuinted for the second time having teamed up before for 500 Days of Summer. Deschanel is wonderful and would certainly add something to the cast which already consist of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
Another thing you guys might be wondering is if Brant and Parker will have any kind of romantic involvement… that’s probably a no go! It’s reported that it wouldn’t really make sense since Parker is in High School and Brant is an adult secretary.
Also, the role that was previously played by Elizabeth Banks was a small that would definitely be beefed up in the reboot and in need of a serious actress. So do you Deschanel is a good choice?? And does she have the acting chops to take on this bigger part??
