Merry early Christmas motha fuckas, SHOWTIME has given “America’s Favorite Serial Killer” an extension on his televised life.

DEXTER has been renewed for a sixth season, after ratings jumped almost 43% over the season five premiere according to The Hollywood Reporter.

I never would have suspected Dexter to run this long, but it’s comforting to know that the story will continue. I’m happy with this news, and I think everyone was kind of expecting it. I’m not one of those “it has to end” fans, I’m just hoping that the writers can gauge themselves and know when to stop. There’s only so many times that Dexter can go undetected until it starts to affect the story. After all “Tick. Tick. Tick. That’s the Sound of Your Life Running Out.”

Expect the official “Dexter” renewal within the next week or so.

“Dexter” centers on Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a forensic bloodstain pattern analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department, who moonlights as a serial killer.
