New X-Men TV spot puts all the action-packed pieces together

Here’s all the little Superhero bits that you should know about, but just don’t make a full post on their own.

Here’s another X-Men First Class TV spot. It’s 30 seconds long. It shows a lot of what we’ve already seen in the trailers, but there’s bit more footage.

The new trailer shows us a very young, Charles Xavier speaking with an equally young Mystique (a young Magneto is randomly cut into the seen as well) and then there’s a bunch of quick snippets featuring of Xavier, Mystique and Banshee suffering the effects of G-force. Magneto does some stuff as well. Magnet stuff.

It’s all well and good, makes for a rather exciting tease. Though, I am rather disturbed at child mystique being naked. I know she’s smurfy and everything, but this borderlines mutant pedophilia.

Following the TV spot, we now have a first official clip from the film. It features a boardroom scene at the C.I.A. we’re Charles Xavier attempts to bring awareness to the government about mutants.

With the last episode of Smallville *looks at watch* airing this Friday (May 13th), Tom Welling will be out of a gig. The DC loyalist might be jumping camps. According to What’s Playing , Welling is either eying Marvel or they’re eying him. Apparently (I didn’t read much into it), Marvel has adaptations planned for Doctor Strange, Runaways, and Deathlok. Welling, I guess is a person of interest.

I dunno if any of this is true (I’m a lazy researcher today), but I think Welling is forever doomed to be type cast as Clark Kent. Fucker only played him for 10 years. You can’t erase that from public consciousness

[UPDATE] What’s recently updated their reported rumor. One of their sources at Marvel said: ‘Welling isn’t up for Doctor Strange, and hasn’t been approached for any Marvel property yet, ‘but that doesn’t mean there isn’t interest in him”.

In Nerd Bastards never ending need to report every little set photo and video from upcoming blockbusters (we like to spoil the shit out of movies), here’s some scenes being shot in New York from Marc Webb‘s Spider-Man reboot.

First video comes courtesy of, and features a rather shifty looking Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors. I do believe that’s Kermit the frog on his right hand. Nah, j/k. That’s a green screen hand condom. Thanks to ComicBookMovie we have a brief scene of Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy hopping into a police cruiser.

‘The Amazing Spider-man’ stars Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby have been hired to write the Tomb Raider reboot being produced by GK Films’ Graham King and Tim Headington. GK Films bought the film rights to Square Enix’s classic video game featuring Lara Croft about two months ago, and plans to reboot the action franchise for a 2013 release of the first film.

There has been no word on who will be the new Lara Croft, but in recent interview with Movieline the actress who plays Sif in Marvel Studios blockbuster THOR, has expressed interest. Here’s a few excerpts:

“I’ve obviously been hearing about a Tomb Raider reboot, which I think would be pretty awesome — Lara Croft. Anything that’s very physical. I would love to pursue Lara Croft.”

“I’m not going to try and be Angelina Jolie. She’s her own woman, and she did a fantastic job as Lara Croft. If that opportunity arises for me, then I would put my own spin on Lara Croft. There’s no way I would try and copy what she did. I think that’s a huge mistake with actors and actresses who are taking on a role that was previously done by someone else.”

Alexander did rock it as Sif, but she doesn’t really have the tits for Lara Croft. That’s kinda of sexist, but the character is really known for being busty. It’s a staple. You really need an actress who can fill the roll in more ways than one. My vote goes to Olivia Wilde (Tron)
