You know it’s summer movie season when your television is flooded with an insane amount of TV spots and trailers. Today we’ve collected the bunch that recently released for you viewing pleasure.

First is the newest spot for Rise of the Planet of the Apes. While I’m still on the fence about this film, I hold the originals very dear to my heart, I have to admit these apes look creepy real.

Synopsis: A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other — and to the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate. Opens August 5th.

More TV spots for Captain America, Super 8, and Cowboys & Aliens after the cut.

Next up, the final of the Marvel movie trifecta, Captain America: The First Avenger. Will it live up to the precedent set by both Thor and X-men: First Class? We’ll have to wait till July 22nd to find out.

Synopsis: Captain America: The First Avenger will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving.)

Super 8 is the probably the most anticipated film of the summer and it’s the one we know the least about. Are you surprised? It’s a J.J. Abrams picture, the fun is not knowing. Maybe you’ll figure out a few more hints form this new TV spot.

Synopsis: In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined. Opens June 10th.

Finally, we’ve a TV spot for Cowboys & Aliens. The film by Jon Favreau has two of my favorite things, I think you can figure out what I’m talking about. But will they mesh well on screen?

Synopsis: 1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear. But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known. Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents–townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors–all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival. Opens July 29th.

Which summer flick are you most excited for? For me it’s a toss up between Super 8 and Cowboys & Aliens. So many people are already saying Super 8 is the best picture of the summer, I hope it lives up to the hype.
