Earlier today we shared the abysmal cover that will be this week’s Entertainment Weekly. Yes, it was a photo-shopped mess, but the issue promises our first good look at The Avengers, does it deliver?
From these first few images Geek Tyrant managed to grab, yes, yes it does. The terrible cover aside, what’s inside looks great. These few images we have from the set of The Avengers give us good detail of Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor and Captain America‘s costumes. And you know what, while I totally dug Cap’s WWII look, I really like this new one, too. I think it’ll look amazing up on the big screen. It is interesting though, that Cap is so brightly colored while the rest of the Avengers have very muted costumes. Well, I guess we haven’t seen the final Iron Man suit, it’ll probably be similar to what we’ve seen before. Bright and shiny.
What do you think of these first official images? Fills you with more hope than that crappy cover shot, right?
The film picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it’s helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki Laufeyson), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!
