There once was a wise philosopher that said ‘If you can’t say something nice… don’t say nothing at all‘. If I took that advice, I would remain universally silent on the Michael Bay live action Transformers movies. They seem to challenge the senses to not mock them with every step they make.
Case in point, check out the Transformers Seven-Disc Limited Edition Collector’s Trilogy packaging after the jump:
Due out January 31st, it comes in the above clumsy and idiotic packaging completely devoid of anything the nerd zeitgeist holds holy for Transformers. No Autobot or Decepticon logo, not even the Transformers logo or a damn robot. Just that damn stupid ‘TF” that is very non-iconic.
Don’t get me wrong, usually these extra big collections editions come in insanely overdone packaging that will never fit along side all of your other discs, but this one seems extra obnoxious. It’ll set you back about $100 bucks, two discs each to the first two movies, and three for Dark Side of the Moon as well as a signed plaque from the director. Oh goody.
Seriously, the only way the packaging for this Transformers trilogy could be more obnoxious is if it was a life sized chrome bust of Michael Bay that shot fire out of its cold lifeless eyes.
