Looks like Adam Sandler‘s Happy Madison Productions is at it again. We don’t mean that they’re making That’s My Boy 2 – that would be crazy – but we are referring to their acquisition and development of Daniel Brunet and Nicolas Douste‘s Bad Toys II.

Produced alongside Columbia PicturesBad Toys 2 is a weird mix of live-action, comic book panels and CG that would make your inner child sit on the edge of his/her seat. Sandler must really have a thing for the French because this isn’t his first time adapting a French short. Happy Madison is already in the process of working on Pixels, a short film where 8-bit video games characters invade the real world New York City.

Although when you have something described as “metal-crunching, tire-screeching, car-crashing levels seen in Bay’s own Bad Boys movies with two wise-cracking cops trying to catch a van of bad guys”, you have to give it a chance. Michael Bay did and look where that got him: straight into the arms of explosions and giant robots.

Want to see this “block” buster in action? Of course you do:

No wonder Sandler wants to see this made. It’s awesome, it’s funny and even if you can’t understand a lick of French you’re going to enjoy it anyway. No date has been set as to when this will reach theaters but when it does we’ll be sure to let you know.
