Fans of Thomas Harris‘s suspense thrillers will not be disappointed with the latest incarnation of his most famous villain, Hannibal Lecter coming to NBC. This trailer gives us a great look at how the series creator Bryan Fuller (Heroes, Pushing Daisies) and director David Slade (30 Days of Night) are handling the relationship between Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and serial killer profile consultant Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).

Personally, I’ve always been more interested in Graham’s character and how he skirts the edge of madness when he tries to see the crime scenes through the eyes of the monstrous killers he hunts. The interplay between Graham and Lecter is going to be electric and from what I’ve seen so far, some damn fine television.

Fuller’s plan is for Hannibal to have a seven season run with thirteen episodes per season instead of the current standard of twenty-two. Hopefully the show can gain traction quickly, NBC does have a tendency to pull the plug on shows that don’t generate buzz and ratings in the first few episodes.

Will you be tuning in or DVR-ing the show?

Hannibal premieres on Thursday evening, April 4th, 2013 on NBC at 10/9c.
