In an ongoing celebration of Batman’s 75th anniversary a brand new short has been offered up from producer Bruce Timm and DC Entertainment. It’s less than 3 minutes long, but it is one of the best animated things to happen to Batman since Batman The Animated Series. They even got Kevin Conroy (the one true Batman) to voice the Bat for 2 words.

There is nothing cooler than Batsy in A noir film! It’s a very simple throwback to ’30s/’40s comics/serials – The mad scientist and his brainless monster kidnap the damsel and the hero appears to save the day. My only gripe is Bats lets Dr. Strange fall to his potential death. Very un-Batman. Then again, this was Batman in the early days, he killed people back then, had a gun and everything. Regardless, nothing ever evokes the same feelings that Bruce Timm manages to do with Batman. The Batman: TAS nostalgia is strong here in all the best ways.

Bruce Timm please continue with the animations and hopefully if DC gets some sense back they will make full episodes of Batman with this style of animation.

Don’t miss “Batman: Strange Days” and other unique DC Nation shorts Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. (5:30 CST) on Cartoon Network during Teen Titans Go!

Happy Birthday Batman! Your parents must be proud. Oops, too soon?
